For Sale: 2013 Chevrolet Corvette in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

We've all witnessed the moment when a tough prizefighter becomes a world heavyweight champion. And for Team Corvette, that proud transition occurred during the sixth generation of their vaunted sports car. Sure, there'd been many instances of greatness up to that point: the original Sting Ray, the 'King of the Hill' ZR-1 and even the cult-adored C5 Z06. But the 2005-2013 line-up, a roster that included this exceptional ZR1, is when a patriotic muscle car became a world-class sports car. One of just 138 ZR1s optioned with Corvette's stylish 60th Anniversary Design Package, this glorious coupe is a world-beating icon that's traveled just SIX miles since leaving Bowling Green's hallowed assembly line. And if you're looking for a showroom-fresh collector car that's both exclusive and highly desirable, it's your chance to experience octane-fueled greatness!

A TUXEDO FIT FOR A KING

A brutal slice of American ingenuity that's virtually new in every way, this one-owner wonder features a slick coat of Arctic White two-stage that looks decidedly retro while remaining solidly sophisticated. The car's wide-body profile does an exceptional job of highlighting classy silver stripes that are shared with most 60th Anniversary Vettes. And it all adds up to one crisp, unabashedly American super car that, as Road & Track put it, "the faster it goes, the faster it goes!"

Tethered to a swank 106-inch wheelbase, the sixth-generation Corvette's low-weight composite body manifests into a killer fastback that's purpose-built for performance. At the front of the car, bright Xenon HIDs join halogen fog lamps to frame a 'mail slot' intake above a ZR1-exclusive carbon fiber splitter. Speaking of carbon fiber, the car's sculpted hood, finished around a classic polycarbonate observation window, is radiused to clear a magical roots-style supercharger. ZR1-exclusive carbon fiber fenders incorporate functional heat extractors below blue-tinged ZR1 badging. A removable, carbon fiber Targa caps like-new glass, which is flanked by touch-sensitive doors and power-operated mirrors that feature both heat and dimming. And carbon fiber rockers flow into ducted quarters, which string a subtle spoiler above traditional brake lights and a not so subtle splitter.

SUPERCHARGED SUPERSTAR

Capping 6.2 liters of octane-laced displacement with a buff Eaton supercharger, the brutal V8 rumbling beneath this Corvette's ornate engine cover is one of the most desirable small blocks ever produced. Derived from the Corvette C6.R racing program, and hand-assembled at GM's Performance Build Center in Wixom, Michigan, the top-of-the-line LS9 incorporates specialty processes typically seen in competition engines to produce a highly refined and precise driving experience. The foundation is an aluminum block that utilizes pressed in cylinder liners to accommodate added pressure from the positive-displacement, roots-type blower. That blower feeds a forged crank, flat-top pistons and a high performance cam, which work well with a high-flow intake and hot aluminum heads. Integrated charge cooling and dry-sump oiling ensure the engine stays hydrated. And, despite producing a staggering 638 Ferrari-flattening horsepower and 604 lb./ft. of Lambo-slaying torque, the mill is a smooth, everyday companion that delivers respectable fuel economy and maintains excellent street manners.

TRACK TERROR

Team Corvette's influence continues under the car, where a familiar aluminum body structure hangs one-piece hydroformed perimeter rails around carbon composite floors. A high capacity dual-disc clutch kicks a Tremec TR6060 6-speed transaxle, which twists high capacity axle shafts. That drivetrain pushes a track-level suspension that, in addition to ZR1-exclusive tuning, employs GM's universally lauded Magnetic Ride Control. Turns are precise thanks to speed-sensitive power rack-and-pinion steering. Power-assisted stops are provided by one of the largest carbon ceramic drilled disc brake systems offered on any street car. Dual-mode exhaust turns the dial from Mozart to Metallica with one press of the 'go pedal'. And at the corners, ZR1 Chrome Aluminum Wheels spin subtle 'Corvette 60' centers inside 205/30ZR19 Michelin Pilot Sports and 335/25ZR20 Michelin Pilot Sports.

BLUE DIAMOND BLUE DEVIL

This ZR1's stylish Blue Diamond cockpit is designed to be just as comfortable during a daily commute as it is on track day thanks to a $10K 3ZR Premium Equipment Group upgrade. Optional Sport Bucket seats wrap tasteful 60th Anniversary embroidery around optional heat, optional Memory and full power adjustment. Those buckets face a leather-wrapped 3ZR dash that stacks a standard Head Up Display on dual-zone climate control and ZR1-spec telemetry. A trim console props a small stick behind optional Bose 9-speaker audio that's finished with optional Bluetooth, optional Navigation and standard MP3 compatibility. And the driver spins a leather-wrapped 'Corvette 60' steering wheel around a tilting and telescoping column.

With classy aesthetics, unmatched exclusivity and super car athleticism, this 60th Anniversary ZR1 is a significance piece of Chevrolet history. Why not celebrate the glory of America's most legendary performer with one of Team Corvette's most memorable offerings?
