Originally built in Janesville WI in the second week of January 1964.
Bought by the current owner (2007) in Palm Springs, California this Impala received a frame off rotisserie restoration in 2009 & 2010 (pictures available on request.) All rust was repaired. eg
New full rear quarters
New trunk floor
Body floor repaired or replaced as needed.
This car looks as good underneath as it does up top.
Vinyl top was lifted and there was no rust underneath, so it was not replaced.
Professional single stage black paint. (note this Impala was originally Palomar Red)
Rarely driven since restoration was completed and kept in a heated secured garage.
Also all mechanical work was done at that time. eg Disc brake upgrade, brake lines, fuel lines, power steering. Heater/defrost function as new.
The 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS is a classic land mark car in automotive history. Specifically in the GM line up it was the last year of the potent 425 hp 409 option, the last year of the X-frame. The wild designs of the pre 1963 Impala were now more crisply creased and fashionable. This timeless design will never go out of style!
