You'd be forgiven for glancing at this Ford's lead image and
assuming it's just another attractive people mover. And there's
absolutely nothing wrong with that, as the roads are flush with
cool pavement prowlers that continue to raise the bar for style and
usability. Given the current collector car craze, showroom-fresh
cruisers continue to gain popularity. And classics like this
striking James Bond 007 Edition Thunderbird pretty much define the
'weekender' segment. Looking over this one-owner, 478-mile T-Bird,
it's easy to understand why these cars are so appealing. There's a
distinct sense of poise that's conveyed by familiar yet fresh
aesthetics. A leather-lined cockpit ensures occupants make the best
of their drop-top driving experience. And reliable power comes
courtesy of a smooth and traditional feeling V8 engine. Looking for
an easy cruiser that's quick, cool and delightfully unique? Take a
minute and get to know this awesome Ford!
007 NUMBER 580
At this point, Bond movies are almost as synonymous as Fast and
Furious movies... Almost. And, in 2002 when Eon and MGM announced
they'd reached a product placement deal with the Ford Motor
Company, car enthusiasts were ecstatic about the franchise's
potential return to automotive form. At that time, Ford owned both
Jaguar and Aston Martin, and it would eventually be announced that
both hero and villain were back behind the wheels of British
brands. That said, Ford, brimming with great marketing ideas,
decided to highlight their newly launched Thunderbird as well.
Enter the James Bond 007 Edition roadster: a limited run of just
700 convertibles that were modeled after the unmodified movie car
piloted by actress Halle Berry. Heavily optioned and sequentially
numbered, these T-Birds featured more power, a Select Shift
transmission, unique wheels, upscale trimmings and unique Coral
paint that was inspired by the Sunset Coral single-stage found on
1956 Thunderbirds. The result is one striking cruiser that turns
heads everywhere it parades!
