This is a 1 owner survivor Corvette with 14,500 actual miles! It is
full of original documentation- order form, invoice, window
sticker, loan pay off, literature and it still has it's original
title. Maintenance records are included too. The original rally
wheels are included.
EXTERIOR: In the video I said it has original paint. After a real
close inspection it appears it has had paint work at some point.
The children of the deceased owner do not recall it ever being
worked on, it was probably a long time ago. The body looks to be in
excellent shape, no damage or body work is evident. The door jambs
still have original paint and even some really old oil change
stickers from the original dealer. Chrome emblems, door handles,
antenna, luggage rack and windshield pillars are in excellent
shape. All the glass is crystal clear, it has a 1979 city sticker
in the windshield. It includes the original rally wheels, they have
been stored in the boxes that the American Racing wheels came out
of.
INTERIOR: I think it's my favorite part of the car, I really love
the silver against the red. Even though the interior is a light
color it shows really well. The the carpet is still real clean, the
seats are still soft leather, door panels are mint. The instrument
panel, center console and all of it's lenses, knobs and controls
are excellent. The clock is even still ticking. Any plastic trim,
bottoms of the t-tops are excellent. It has original radio, options
include power windows, a rear window defogger and tilt-telescopic
wheel.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Original alternator and distributor with
correct codes and dates. VIN number matched performance L82 motor
all the components look to be original- manifold, air cleaner
assembly, ignition shielding and it has the L82 aluminum finned
valve covers. The alternator and distributor have correct numbers
and dates that match this car. It still has original smog pump
although the belt was removed. It has power steering and power
brakes. In the maintenance records it shows the air conditioning
was serviced at one point and updated to 134a freon it.
UNDERSIDE: It is very well preserved, original condition. There are
still assembly line markings and paint stencils showing. Looking up
at the motor it is clean, no greasy and never resprayed. It has
it's original starter with correct #s and date. Original vin #
matching Turbo 400 automatic with original tag. Original 3.36 rear
end. The raw fiberglass floors are mint, no damage and never
painted over. The spare tire carrier is excellent. The original
spare has never been out, it still has ink stencils on the tread.
The components look proper. All the little bits and pieces are
still original from a ground strap and battery drain hose to rubber
seals stapled in place. The fuel tank still has original stencil.
Features include 4 wheel independent suspension and disc brakes at
all 4 corners.
The owner of this car was a bigger guy and that's why it wasn't
used much. He drove it to Florida and back once which accounts for
18% of it's total miles! I think this is a special Corvette. An L82
with great colors and being a 1 owner with super low miles, great
documentation and in such well preserved condition. It is
special!
