Vehicle Description
Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1978 International Scout
II. Finished in Woodbine Green with a factory "shadow" graphics
applique, this Scout has achieved a once-in-a-lifetime patina that
looks just incredible. Sold new by Desert International in Tucson,
this truck spent most of its life in Arizona and Texas before
coming to Georgia a couple of years ago. This truck comes from the
personal collection of The Scoutman, who has professionally applied
a clearcoat inside and out to preserve the patina just as it is.
The end cap on the left rear quarter panel appears to have been
repainted at some point in the past, but otherwise this truck is
still wearing completely original paint inside and out. Floors,
rockers and cab supports are original and solid. Never repainted,
never undercoated and not hiding anything.
Interior presents nicely with original floors protected by a fresh
layer of clearcoat plus new door panels, dash pad and seat
upholstery in russet plaid. All gauges are working and a modern
AM/FM/CD stereo has been fitted in the dash (with supplemental
speakers mounted to either side of the rear bench seat).
Under the hood is an IH 345 cubic inch V8 mated to a TorqueFlite
727 automatic transmission. Recent service includes a complete
brake job with new master cylinder, an aluminum radiator, and
service to both front and rear axles and the transmission (engine
oil service and tune up items are also up to date). Recent shocks
and springs (with a modest lift) and BF Goodrich all terrain tires
on factory chrome Rallye wheels. This Scout runs and drives well,
thanks to the V8, automatic, power steering and power disk
brakes.
This is truly a one-of-a-kind example with a patina that would be
impossible to replicate at any price. For more information about
