For Sale: 1970 Chevrolet Camaro in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

Ground up restored in 2011, looks like it was done yesterday. Excellent fit and finishes. There is a box of restoration receipts included. Less than 1,000 miles since finished.

EXTERIOR: I'm truly impressed with the body and paint on this car. It's over 10 years old and looks like it was just done yesterday. It is show quality and has a hard gloss shine. I don't see any signs of cracking, shrinkage or bubbling. It is laser beam straight from the rockers to the roof. All the panels fit square and flush. The metal flake is laid out evenly and the clear coat is polished like glass. It is so deep it looks like you could reach your arm right into it. The jambs are just as slick and shiny. The SS stripes are correctly painted and smooth to the touch. Upfront the grill, bumper, headlight bezel and spoiler looks like new. It has the optional moldings around the windows and rear edge of the hood, all of that is excellent. It also has sport mirrors and new door handles. In back the emblem, bumper and tail lights all look new. It as the blacke out SS tail panel. New weatherstrips and window seals. It looks like the glass is good original. The wheels were restored- glossy paint, new lugs, caps and rings. The BFGoodrich tires have hardly any miles. It has a keyless entry and alarm.

INTERIOR: The inside of the car was completely gutted and lined with sound deadener. There is new carpet with some nice Camaro rubber floor mats. The seats were very cushioned and reupholstered. The upper and lower door panels were replaced, all the plastic trim is in mint condition. The dash pad was replaced, in front of me everything looks nice- the bezels, knobs, heater control panel, steering wheel etc. They've added power windows. It also has a custom stereo system without cutting up the car. New visors and headliner, it does have some wrinkles. The dome light works.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Rebuilt 396 motor bored 40 over with Keith Black pistons, Moly rings, polished crank, new bearings, Melling oil pump and more. The heads were rebuilt with a 3 angle valve job, valve stem seals and bronze liners. The motor was dyno tuned by Strang Automotive. New wiring harness. Everything in the motor compartment looks new down to the nuts and bolts. The engine still has fresh Chevy orange, even the Edelbrock intake is painted. It has as a dual feed Holley carb with electric choke, billet distributor with HEI ignition system and a set of headers. Dressed with a beautiful polished finned aluminum valve covers. In front of the motor all the pulleys, brackets, alternator, power steering pump looks new. It has a new clutch fan, shroud and an upgraded Champion aluminum radiator. It also features power brakes. All the metal surfaces are painted smooth, the bottom of the hood and jambs are glossy.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It has a CD changer, two amplifiers, subwoofers and 6x9 speakers in the rear deck. All solid metal very neatly painted with a gray spatter finish. The bottom of the trunk lid and the jamb are smooth and glossy. The weather strip and rubber mat where replaced. It does have a power trunk release.

UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame. Rebuilt suspension- new bushings, springs front and back, KYB gas shocks, swaybars. New steering components. Custom stainless exhaust system with x-pipe and Magnaflow mufflers and polished tips. Bottom of the motor is a spotless Chevy orange, has a high torque starter. Rebuilt Turbo 400 automatic. It has a custom built driveshaft leading back to the rebuilt 12 bolt posi rear. The fuel system was replaced including the tank, straps, sending unit and lines. The brake system was restored. It has disc in front with ceramic pads. The e-brake assembly is hooked up. The floors look to be real solid, original metal that was prepped and painted.

I read the receipts, too many little things replaced to mention from headlight switch to rear seat insulation. This is a high quality restoration big block Camaro
