Highly desirable RS-SS with matching #s, great factory color and
air conditioning. Built new in California and was purchased March
of this year out of California. Nut and bolt restored to factory
condition by a professional shop, they said it was a clean car to
start with.
EXTERIOR: Highly desirable code 51-51: Daytona yellow upper and
lower. Show quality fit and finish. It is laser straight, no
bubbles or damage. The paint is smooth like yellow glass. The jambs
are slick, new sill plates. The very desirable R/S option includes
a different front end that has split bumpers, extended grill and
round marker lights. It also includes body color on the door
handles, trim on the hood edge and rain gutters. It also has front
and rear spoilers. The chrome bumpers and emblems, lenses,
windshield are replaced. The weatherstrips and window seals were
replaced. The wheels are correctly restored like new and have
reproduction
Wide Oval tires.
INTERIOR: I'm sitting in the car now and as I look around it is
practically brand new. In front of me is a mint condition SS
steering wheel on a tilt column, a full set of factory gauges and
tachometer and R/S rosewood trim. The dash pad fits really well, it
has the original AM radio. Vents, knobs and heater controls are
excellent. The original console is in real nice shape. The
upholstery has been redone, new door panels. All the plastic trim
is excellent. Headliner is mint, fits tight as a drum. Visors,
mirror and dome light look new. Complete set of original GM seat
belts. The interior lights work.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Detailed to factory specs. The 350-300 hp motor
has correct casting codes and dates. The matching vin # and codes
are on the stamp pad. Stock manifolds, air cleaner assembly and
valve covers. Correct # carb and alternator. Correct distributor.
It has reproduction hoses and clamps. The clutch fan, radiator and
shroud look new. It has new heater control valve. Reproduction plug
wires and heat shields around the plugs. Features include factory
air conditioning, power steering and brakes. The booster is cadmium
plated, stainless brake lines, a/c compressor is replaced. First
thing I thought when I opened the hood is "this looks immaculate"
It's not even dusty. The metal surfaces are all smooth semi gloss
black. It has hood insullation. The air cleaner assembly is
restored and is complete right down to the vacuum lines and heat
riser tube. New wiper motor, squirters are hooked. The pollution
equipment is hooked up. It is concourse condition.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Excellent, dry metal. The quarter panels look
original, I did not see cuts or splices. Very neatly spatter
painted. The jamb and under the trunk is smooth, gloss yellow. It
has reproduction weatherstrip, decal, trunk mat, tire cover and
rear seat insulation. It has a full size spare and complete jack
assembly.
UNDERSIDE: Everything was dropped out of the bottom of this car,
the body was off the frame. The underbody looks like original,
smooth clean metal that was prepped and painted semi gloss black.
The front end suspension and steering has been completely rebuilt.
The rear suspension also has replaced bushings, springs and shocks.
Correct reproduction exhaust system with a transverse muffler and
polished tips. The brake system has been completely redone. It has
replaced lines, e-brake assembly and disc in front. The fuel system
was all replaced- tank, sending unit, straps and lines. The bottom
of the motor is spotless, correct starter looks new. The turbo 350
automatic is VIN number matching to this car. The drive shaft was
balanced. It has it's original 12 bolt rear end dated to this car.
It has been detailed to concourse specs with correct assembly line
paint markings and stickers.
I see thousands of collector cars a year, I can't remember the last
time I have seen a 1970 RS-SS. This is a rare and desirable car.
This one right here is one of the best examples in the country
based on condition, originality and features.
