Vehicle Description
This 1948 Plymouth Special Deluxe four door sedan is a unique
machine. The exterior has some fun upgrades for a cruiser style,
and beneath the skin is a true post-war classic car experience. It
makes for a total package that's a distinct way to enjoy affordable
classic car fun.
The 1948 cars are always ripe for telling a great story. It was
part of that immediate post-WWII generation where it still carried
most of the pre-war style. And so we'd soon lose the distinct
roundness in the fenders and rear. After all, they would be out of
fashion in the 1950s, but today, we really do miss that kind of
style. It's this kind of design that also makes it great for a
touch of custom car flair. The paintwork is a stylish cream
sandwiched in-between a metallic silver. And the custom blue and
purple pinstriping includes plenty of starbursts to evoke extra
nostalgia. So it certainly earns the Sentimental Journey nickname
on the trunk. And because this is a true cruiser, the finish is the
ideal mix of nothing that will make you nervous to drive, but good
looking panels that you'll be proud to show off. Plus, it has all
the right accessories, like the dual spotlights, cat-eye
headlights, bright wheel covers, and faux lake pipes.
The interior does a fantastic job of giving this spacious sedan a
comfortable and complete feeling that really feels quite vintage
and stock. There's a classic striped cloth upholstery, matching
door panels, and a wood-like finish to the dash that may very well
be original. So if you have family and friends who love a true
classic, they will absolutely want to go for a ride. In fact, you
know they'll want to hop in back just to show off the factory
suicide doors. But you don't need any of them to have fun, because
this is a classic for drivers. You get the large three-spoke
steering wheel with an unmistakable worn-in feel of the generations
that have come before you. The dash has a complete look with its
Art Deco kind of style. And the heater is even working for those
early Sunday drives.
Under the hood looks refreshingly original with only the right
upgrades. For example, you have some of the same cool custom
pinstriping that's on the exterior, but it's still on top of the
correct vintage parts. And this has the correct-style
Dodge/Plymouth inline-six block, but now it has been upgraded to
12-volt power for better reliability and serviceability. This motor
has an eagerness to run that you can instantly feel every time it
fires up with gusto. And the column-shifted three-speed manual
transmission has that ideal feeling of proper control but with a
true vintage feeling.
This is the classic sedan for those who love to have something
that's unique, distinct, and absolutely classic. And at a price
like this, we all are pretty tempted. Call today!!!
