1958 Chevrolet Impala Coupe
Car History
The 1958 Chevrolet Impala was a full-size car built by Chevrolet.
It was Chevrolet's popular flagship passenger car and considered a
top-of-the-line Bel Air hardtop and distinguished from other models
by its symmetrical triple taillights.
The Impala was introduced in 1958 as a new, upmarket, sporty trim
package. Unique to this model were its six taillights, which set it
apart from lower trim levels with only two lights on a side, and
this classic styling cue would become its trademark.
We have a 1958 Chevrolet Impala here at Adventure Classics that was
restored and beautifully finished in the original color of Rio Red
(verified on the Trim Tag #923) with the original color of your
interior in Gray, Black and Red Cloth & Vinyl (also verified on the
Trim Tag #854) and the original engine (verified by the engine cast
and stamped numbers showing it to be an HA engine.)
Engine & Drivetrain
Pop the hood and you will see the optional Tri-Power carburetor
setup on its 348 cubic inch engine that came from the factory with
280 horsepower, that was Chevrolet's first-ever big-block V8.
It is the original engine verified by the engine cast and stamped
numbers showing it to be an HA engine, built 62458 and looks as it
did from the factory with the iconic valve covers, intake with the
Tri-Power carbs, factory correct black dual-snorkel air cleaner
assembly, and factory cast iron exhaust headers.
The engine resides in a very clean and detailed engine compartment
and has a 3-speed automatic transmission backing it up as it rides
on wide-white wall tires and has factory spinner hubcaps that looks
period correct with the fender skirts, dual exterior mirrors and
dual exhaust.
Interior
The restored interior is done and has an all new look with the
bucket seats upholstered in red/black, grey tri-color as the rest
of the interior is impeccable with its matching color scheme
continued with the door panels, rear seat, red/grey factory
steering wheel, dash with all the correct factory gauges, radio,
and all new matching red carpet.
Exterior
Our Impala has a paint job on it better than when it was new. It
covers the body and looks great on the dual headlamps, deeply
sculptured rear fenders, Impala's three taillights each side,
crossed-flag insignias above the side moldings, as well as bright
rocker moldings and dummy rear-fender scoops.
Conclusion
The 1958 Chevrolet Impala models, like the one we have here at
Adventure Classics, were longer, lower, and wider than its
predecessors.
This great restored 1958 is a numbers matching, original engine
that has been verified and has an excellent arrow straight body
with one of the hottest color combinations of red over red you will
ever find. It has all the flash, looks, and attention to detail you
will ever find.
