1966 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible
Car History
The Corvette was always America's only true sports car and the 1966
Corvette, like the one we have here at Adventure Classics, is a
perfect example.
It is red, has the 327-300 horse engine, 4-speed, black interior,
knock-off wire wheels, Factory Air Conditioning, and black top.
What more do you need?
Engine & Drivetrain
These Corvettes always had performance under the hood and ours has
the original numbers matching HE code 327 cubic inch V8 engine, as
stamped on the engine block pad, backed by the 4-speed manual
transmission.
From the minute you open the hood and see restored small block with
its orange painted engine block, valve covers and intake to the
chrome open air cleaner, factory cast iron Rams Head exhaust
manifolds, 4-barrell, shielded distributor, and backed by a Muncie
4-speed, and all sitting in a correctly restored engine compartment
and chassis with all the right parts, you will know that this
Corvette was built right and meant to run, and be comfortable with
the very rare factory air conditioning.
Interior
This Factory Air Sting Ray offers a completely luxurious driving
environment. The interior features trim of durable expanded vinyl
with a more subtle texture, individual twin black bucket seats that
have a factory bolster-like design for more seating comfort and
better lateral support, black carpet, door panels, and dual sun
visors.
It also has the controls for the heater, Factory Air Conditioning,
and defroster along with the electrical clock, radio controls and
vent controls, matched speedometer and tachometer are the primary
instruments in the Sting Ray with an electrical fuel gauge with a
head-light switch, cigarette lighter, head-lamp retractor switch,
hood release, great factory Corvette polished and wood steering
wheel, and four-position ignition switch that complete the
instrument panel.
Exterior
The red paint job on our 1966 Sting Ray is beautiful as it floes
over the hood and louvers behind the front wheels that help
increase air flow through the engine compartment, giving it both an
aggressive and sophisticated look.
All the trim, bumpers, taillights, door handles, the flip-up gas
cap, and the black convertible top is in as-new condition as well
as the correct 15-inch cast aluminum wheels with the knock-off type
hubs and redline tires which recreate the original look.
Conclusion
More than ever, the 1966 Factory Air Corvette Roadster we have here
at Adventure Classics is luxurious transportation for two, backed
by the potent 327-300 horse engine that will give you a different
kind of driving experience than maybe you ever had.
