Vehicle Description
This ultra-clean 1937 Ford 3-Window Coupe is one heck of an
impressive streetrod. Professionally built with all the goodies
you'd expect from a piece costing twice the price, it's a recently
completed show-stopper that's ready to cruise and show off this
summer. Big motor, bright paint, and a luxury interior. What more
could you ask for?
As you might suspect at this price-point, the body is fiberglass,
but it's a dynamic facsimile that perfectly captures the cool
art-deco look of the original. From the deep V-shaped front grille
and faired-in teardrop headlights to the sleek 3-window coupe
profile and slant-back roofline, it's a shape that will never go
out of style. The top has been chopped in true hot-rod fashion, the
drip rails were deleted, the A-pillars have been laid back, and all
the trim and handles have been smoothed and shaved, leaving a shape
that's pure custom Ford. Excellent prep work on the fiberglass
means the bright red finish is flat and smooth, with a bright shine
that's accentuated by the gallons of clearcoat that was laid atop
the fine finish. Extra attention was spent on the fit and alignment
of the doors, hood and trunk, so the gaps are tight and the
surfaces are flush, lending the car a precision look that is seldom
found on rods at this price. And with only 2,065 miles on the
build, there are only very minor imperfections to report, and even
then, they're only spotted under very close scrutiny. Bottom line,
this is a head turner that needs no excuses out on the road. Other
custom touches include those unique taillights, the vee'd front
windshield, a blacked-out grille, open-air engine bay, and turn
signals integrated into the headlight buckets behind those lovely
teardrop lenses. Chrome mirrors are the only interruption in the
smooth shape, but they've been so neatly integrated into the design
that you barely notice them. Wow, what a great car!
The interior is brilliantly executed in two-tone Saddle leather
that's featured prominently on the beautifully upholstered and
sculpted power buckets seats. Borrowed from a late-model, the
chairs are all-day comfortable and incredibly stylish, matched only
by the flanking custom door panels and leather-lined headliner and
interior of the cabin. The custom dash was finished to match the
upholstery and contains an array of bright digital/analog gauges
designed in a vintage style, accurately covering all the engine's
vitals. Saddle carpets are plush and match the color of the seats,
and the 3-spoke, leather-wrapped billet steering wheel sets atop a
tilt column for added space for the driver. R134a A/C, power
windows and locks, and a Pioneer AM/FM/CD/AUX head unit are all
part of the package, making this wicked streetrod a very
comfortable place to be in. The trunk is also beautifully finished
with matching side and rear panels, fitted carpets, and hidden
compartments for things like the battery and stereo equipment.
A dazzling, chrome-plated and polished 350 cubic inch Corvette V8
delivers plenty of power and torque, and delivers more
show-stopping quality under the hood. A smoothed and painted
firewall provides the perfect backdrop for the small block Chevy,
and details like the fined valve covers, a chrome serpentine belt
system, and mesh air cleaner are a beautiful addition. An Edelbrock
4-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock aluminum intake, and updated
distributor ensure that this snarling small bock snaps to attention
at the turn of a key, and a big aluminum radiator up front keeps
the whole show cool. Gear swaps are managed by a TH400 3-speed
automatic spinning a 10-inch rear. A Mustang II front end with
power rack-and-pinion steering is up front, adjustable coilovers
are out back, and the chassis and undercarriage was built for the
road and is still in outstanding, silver-painted condition. The
Flowmaster dual exhaust system sounds awesome, power 4-wheel discs
are a great addition, and the body rolls on 18- and 20-inch Coys
chrome wheels wearing low-profile rubber for the perfect
finish.
