For Sale: 1958 GMC 3100 in Concord, North Carolina
An awesome patina look on the outside and a strong rebuilt small
block under the hood come together on this 1958 GMC 3100 to give
you one of the all-around coolest driver's classics around.
Those who know this generation of trucks also remember they were
called the Blue Chip series. So this one really likes to take that
to heart. After all, not only was it done in a metallic blue, but
also it utilizes the blue for the Moon Pie logos on the doors. Of
course there's something much more going on with the paint. It's
hard not to be attracted to a level of patina that makes this truck
look like it has spent the last 60+ years earning its keep. But as
you dig a little deeper, you can really understand how much care
this one has been given over the years (especially with the way the
fresh lumber looks on the bed floor.) Plus, the bright white of the
bumpers/grille, bold red wheels, and overall straightness of this
stepside's sheetmetal signal that the vintage style is really part
of a thoughtful total package.
The sea of blue continues inside. Not only is it on the dash,
doors, and roof, but also there are some thoughtful details. You
see it in how the bench seat has a comfortable gray tweed but a
durable blue vinyl border, and the door cards have a textured blue
insert. The wraparound windshield and large three-spoke steering
wheel give you that unmistakable vintage feeling. But the tall
floor shifter with custom cam handle and full AutoMeter gauge
package get you ready for something special under the hood.
The engine bay has smooth and dark inner walls to really funnel
your attention to the upgraded heart in the middle. It's a 327
cubic-inch V8, and this was rebuilt only about 1k miles ago. It has
a nice Edelbrock upgrade kit with the finned valve covers, matching
air intake, and very desirable aluminum heads. Plus, this has
additional upgraded power from a Holley four-barrel carburetor and
Team G intake. It makes nice power for added driving fun. In fact,
this pickup likes to give you a unique experience where you have
the classic pickup feel going down the road, but it also is made a
bit easier by a three-speed automatic transmission, power brakes,
front discs, and modern cruising tires.
We love how the barn find appearance hides a thoughtful and
powerful total package. So if you want an awesome patina cruiser,
don't miss this GMC. Call now!
