For Sale: 1939 Studebaker Commander in St George, Utah

Vehicle Description

1939 STUDEBAKER COMMANDER

This is an all-steel car.  80+ years old.  In Great shape and runs very well and smooth. Never in an accident!  RARE survivor car, 95% original, flathead 6, still 6volt, suicide doors, interior seats redone, head liner and other items is still in great shape, chrome refurbished as it was turning yellow from age and polishing, original radio and clock both work, I have installed a cutoff switch for the clock so it will not deplete the battery.  Also, since the radio is only AM I have installed a plug in in the glove box so an I-pod or like device can play through the original speaker

This car has hydraulic brakes.  The master cylinder has been rebuilt, and it's one of the first cars with a heater (which just needs a 6volt fan motor) and defroster.  There is no rust and no bondo on this car!  The paint is original, and it took a lot of rubbing compound to bring out the shine.  Most will think it has been repainted at first glance, but if you look really close you can see the patina.

I have replaced all three leaf springs and the shocks are refillable and still work well.  The toolbox in the trunk is still in great shape with NO rust and has the original jack and tire pump. The spare tire is in great shape but older than the current mounted tires and has a slightly smaller white wall. The spare tire is mounted in the trunk on the original tire mount.

The interior door panels are all original, and the seats are covered in a wool material very close to the original material with the exact same stitching pattern.

This car was featured in Collectible Automobile magazine twice and show winner many times, and often best of show.

Could be a great car for wedding transportation company, or a collector who wants to invest into a car that as it ages increases in value.

This car drives and rides like a champ. I also have a complete tune up kit and other spare parts like a fuel pump and 6-volt light bulbs plus years of "Turning Wheels" magazines that would also have historic value.  I can also include a car cover.

We have recently moved, and I have lost my 3500 square foot shop and do not currently have the garage space for all of my vehicles, so I must thin the herd, so to speak.  However, since we are in Utah and side by side ATVs are really popular, we would consider a trade for a late model side by side that is well equipped, as a vehicle like that can be stored outdoors!
