It's a South Beach dance club with a steering wheel. Motor Trend,
November 2005 It's no exaggeration to say that virtually every
Ferrari automobile ever created is special; the automotive press'
impressions of the 2005 F430 Spider underscore just how special.
The look: ...the spider resembles the Millennium Falcon from the
back as it screams past morning commuters in their microcubes. -Car
and Driver, June 2005 The driving dynamics: Chopping the top
reduced the F430's aerodynamic downforce, so the spider's tail
spoiler rises to a higher peak to help make back the difference. At
124 mph, the spider is sucked to the road with 245 pounds of
downforce and tracks with precision. Corners are quick work; a hand
twitch cuts the apex, and the body stays flat. -Car and Driver Life
is surprisingly quiet at speed. A transparent polycarbonate wind
blocker between the seats helps keep hats in place and the
conversation two settings below shouting. Automatic exhaust-pipe
valves turn up the wail under hard acceleration, but they open
later in the spider--4000 rpm instead of 3000--if you set the
manettino (rotary switch on the steering wheel) to 'low grip.' In
'race,' they bang home in as little as 0.15 second for that
extra-quick lap time. €" Motor Trend The technical detail:
Ferrari's new drop-top includes a number of important technical
features which give hints of the car's F1 pedigree, starting with
the innovative electronic differential - first developed by the
racing division for the Scuderia's all-conquering F1 cars - which
improves traction and roadholding under all conditions. - TopSpeed
web magazine The engine: The F430 Spider is powered by Ferrari's
new 490 hp, 4,308cc 90° V8 which is capable of pushing the car to a
top speed of over 310 km/h (over 193 mph) and covering the 0-100
km/h (0-62 mph) sprint in just 4.1 seconds. -Car and Driver The
F430 offered here is a virtually perfect example in Corsa red over
red-trimmed beige leather under a power-operated black-fabric top.
The car has traveled just 6,500 miles since new, barely 400 miles
per-year on average. During that time, it has been meticulously
maintained and properly serviced-including appropriate dealer
service under the Power Extended Service Coverage optioned on the
car-as the accompanying Carfax history report demonstrates. The
car's original window sticker, showing all standard and optional
equipment, is included in the sale. (A copy can be viewed in the
photo gallery and should be studied for all its many details.) A
visual tour of the car attests to all the prior-owner care; every
surface on the vehicle is literally as close to as-new as is it's
possible to achieve. The factory-applied Corsa red paint is
flawless across virtually the entire sensuous body. Only very light
indications of road rash are present on forward-facing front
fascia. Ferrari badging on the car is complete; Ferrari
front-fender logos are in place. Lighting lenses, cabin glass, and
the glass cover over the engine are clear and free of any wear or
imperfections. The fabric top is free of marks. The F430-identified
mirror caps are undamaged. Split-spoke design, factory alloy wheels
are free of curb
