Frame off restored, 1 owner GTO! #s matching throughout. It still
retains most of it's original components. Bought new in
Massachusetts, then driven to California where it lived for several
years. Then it was driven back to Massachusetts where it was stored
for 25 years. Then it was treated to a body off frame restoration
in 2010. The owner passed away and we purchased it from his son.

I drove this car home and it's in the top 1% of all the collector
cars I've driven. It was so smooth, no shakes, drove straight, rode
so nice, the motor ran perfectly.
EXTERIOR: The fit and finish is really excellent on this car. I'm
especially impressed with the rubber front bumper, it fits really
well. I felt all along the lower body and it is smooth, not a
bubble anywhere that I could find. It is straight, panels doors fit
square. Repainted it's original Mayfair Maize color but I'm sure it
didn't look this good new. The paint is polished out to a glass
finish. The black convertible top is like new, it's power and works
fine. It has the very desirable hideaway lights, they fit real
well, open fine, a little lazy when closing. The grills are
excellent. All the stainless trim looks like it's been straightened
and polished. The remote mirror, handles and emblems look like new.
The rear bumper was rechromed. Jambs are painted slick,
weatherstrips were replaced. New windshield. The wheels were
upgraded with new 15 inch Rally lls. They have correct lug nuts,
center caps and trim rings. They roll on BFG radial redline
tires.
INTERIOR: Very nice, unabused interior and it's original! The
carpet was replaced and reproduction floormats. The upholstery and
door panels are in really great shape considering they are
original. The console is in great shape and has original Hurst dual
gate shifter. Original seat belts are in great shape. The dash pad
looks great, I did not see any cracks. The instrument panel looks
really good too. It does have the rally gauge cluster and clock. It
has it's original am radio. Everything works including interior
lights except the clock and radio do not work.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Show quality motor compartment. I opened the
hood and thought wow! All the metal is smooth and gloss black. The
VIN number match 400-350 hp was completely rebuilt. All the
components o look factory new. Correct chrome valve covers,
original manifolds and carb. The air cleaner assembly is complete
and restored. It even has the heat riser tube. The alternator,
pulleys, power steering, wiper motor, fan shroud all look great. It
has reproduction hoses and clamps. The brake booster is cadmium
plated with a new master.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is very impressive, clean and complete. All
clean metal with a very nicely sprayed spatter finish. Bottom of
the trunk lid and the jamb are just as slick as the outside. The
original rally wheel and jack were restored. In the video I
mentioned it is a redline tire, it is not. New weather strip, decal
and well liner. The trunk light works. A car cover is included.
UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame for a thorough restoration.
The chassis was completely taken apart and restored. The front end
steering and suspension was completely rebuilt. The rear suspension
was rebuilt with new bushings and shocks. The brake system was
completely restored, e-brake assembly is hooked up. The exhaust is
a correct reproduction with staggered size mufflers. The fuel
system was replaced including the tank, straps, sending unit and
lines. Bottom of the motor is spotless, starter looks new. The
matching vin is below the bottom radiator hose. The # matching
Turbo 400 automatic was rebuilt and looks clean. The driveshaft was
restored. Original 10 bolt rear end. The floors are claimed to be
original and are super clean. They were prepped and painted black.
The body was reunited to the chassis with new bushings.
This is a quality car, unmolested and original. Not only the fit
and finish is excellent but also the function. Man, it drove so
nice compared to all the others. Try finding a 1 owner GTO
convertible, you won't. Investment grade that should be driven to
be fully enjoyed!
