Vehicle Description
This 2004 Chevrolet SSR is powerful, dark, retro, modern, and
loaded. So that makes for an awesome V8 convertible that's terrific
for enjoying today and watching the admiration for its rarity only
grow.
The SSR is the kind of dream car that rarely gets to hit the
streets. It was how Chevy's stylists imagined the classic Advance
Design truck for the modern age. And they just didn't update the
look, but they also gave it one of the most impressive roofs
around. The hardtop has a very stylish rounded look when in place,
and with the touch of a button, it disappears into a compact cubby
that basically leaves no trace. It was expensive to make and
expensive to buy, and so it's a rarity only available for a few
short years. Also making this an instant classic is its desirable
full factory black package. The Smokin Asphalt paint shows the
right signs of being the factory application. The silver accenting
looks great against the black, and it draws added attention to some
of the best features. This includes the retro-style grille with
classic Chevrolet lettering, optional running boards, and the
special factory alloys that have larger and wider rear ones for a
sports car stance. In fact, speaking of sports car style, this one
has a nice added touch with silver pinstripes on the rear deck. It
coordinates with the rest of the silver accenting while also gives
you a hint of the classic Chevy SS stripes.
The black package continues inside, and we all know that a full
blackout convertible like this is one of the most consistent
collectibles around. It's also loaded with the best features, power
lock, keyless entry/alarm, dual front airbags, ABS, cruise control,
a tilt steering column, and an AM/FM/CD stereo with premium Bose
speakers. Even the rear is special with a locking hard cover, full
carpeting, and side well storage. So while we could call it a truck
bed, you just know it's really the biggest trunk you're going to
find. The seats are done in supple leather, and they power adjust
to your ideal position. Plus, the power windows and power
convertible top mean you never have to leave the driver's seat to
fully open this one up to the world. And the cold-blowing air
conditioning means you'll happily do this even in the
summertime.
Under the hood is the correct 5.3-liter Vortec V8. This is the
ideal intercession of pickup robustness and a 300 horsepower
fuel-injected sports car. It's this kind of packaging that makes
the SSR an ideal driver. Quick off the line, a sports car
suspension, and four-wheel power disc brakes make this a lot of
fun. Plus, power steering and a four-speed automatic transmission
with overdrive make it everyday easy.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual and maintenance
records. Although we believe the odometer to show actual miles, it
will be sold as exempt/unknown on the title. This is the distinct
V8 modern classic done with the most desirable factory color combo.
