1966 PONTIAC GTO FACTORY MONTERO RED, 4-SPEED GTO This 1966 Pontiac
GTO presents itself well. The body is straight from every angle and
the fit and finish is excellent. The front bumper has been
rechromed, grills and headlight bezels are like new. The rear
bumper looks to have been re-chromed also. All emblems look new
along with the taillight lenses and trim. Glass has factory tint
all weather stripping and fuzzies have been replaced. The door
jambs are painted and have a glossy finish. It has a set of Crager
wheels with a set of BFG T/A radial tires. The parchment interior
really pops against the Montero Red exterior! What makes it even
better is the 4-speed shifter between the bucket sets. The front
bucket seats have new cushions and upholstery. It also has new door
panels, armrest bases, door handles, window cranks, carpet, sill
plates and a tight headliner. The dash has nice clear lenses, a new
dash pad, a factory AM radio that works and nice looking knobs.
There is an aftermarket steering wheel and aftermarket gauges that
are mounted under the dash. The heater controls slide back and
forth with ease. There are also aftermarket GTO floor mats to
protect that new carpet. The engine compartment is detailed. It is
painted in a satin black finish. The 455 cubic inch engine is
dressed with a set of chrome valve covers, air cleaner and
alternator. It has been upgraded with a dual master cylinder and an
HEI ignition for reliability. Some other features include: power
steering, aluminum radiator with factory shroud, Ram Air exhaust
manifolds, new upper control bushings and under hood insulation.
The undercarriage is all clean metal. It is painted in a satin
black finish. The front end components look to be completely
rebuilt. It has new shocks and upgraded front power disc brakes.
The frame is clean and painted. It has a newer dual exhaust with
Thrush mufflers and the correct stainless steel trumpet exhaust
tips that exit out the rear of the car. There is a newer gas tank
and sending unit. It has an upgraded 3:73 12-bolt rear end with
boxed in control arms. The E-brake cables are hooked up and
working. The trunk is detailed and painted with splatter paint. It
has a trunk mat, spare tire, jack assembly, new weather stripping
and the jacking instruction decal. This is one fine example of a
muscle car! Good Looks and lots of power!
