1.4L Turbo (1372cc) Phase II in Grigio Chiaro (Paint Code 697)
finish with the original Houndstooth interior. A cool retro classic
with some definite pep in its step. Over 8,800,000 Uno's were built
by Fiat but few Turbo examples are still existence. Nicknamed 'la
bara' (the coffin) because the Turbos had a high power to weight
ratio, were easy to tune, and wrecked often. Power came from a 1.4L
SOHC 8V Multi-Point Injection transverse mounted Inline-4 putting
traction to the ground through a 5-speed manual transmission. The
Garrett turbo charged 4 banger was capable of 120 hp @ 6000 RPM and
119 lb/ft @ 3500 RPM with a top speed of 124 mph. A curb weight of
only 2027 lbs made for a great power to weight ratio and fuel
economy numbers approaching 30 mpg. We located this rust free well
kept example in Meurchin located in the Hauts-de-France region of
Northern France.Originally delivered with the 'Turbo' name accented
in color contrasting ground effects. This made you easily
identifiable as a hazard on any motorway, roadway. highway, byway,
or use-to-be peaceful city street. If Cars and Coffee existed in
1990, many of these would have quickly found their ultimate demise
wrapped around the nearest obstruction. We have installed a set of
5 Spoke Abarth alloy Cromodora 15x7 wheels wrapped in Uniroyal Rain
Expert 195/50R15 directional tires to give this Turbo a proper
looking stance and curb appeal. Factory features include power
locks, power windows, disc brakes, rear wiper, rear defrost, fog
lights, and side marker lights. The gauge cluster consists of a
speedometer, tachometer, fuel, temp oil temp, oil pressure, and
boost. One of our favorite features is the singular front
windshield wiper which really reminds you just how small this
little hot hatch is. Or what we like to call, Small But Fierce.
Small But Fierce also came with a factory front tow hook for the
day you feel like hitting the track. The driver and passenger seats
tilt forward for ease of access when you have a need to cram 3
adults into the back and test the boundaries of physics. For those
lucky enough to ride in the rear... the side windows pop open for
air flow and/or to let screams escape (really matter of choice).A
very original vehicle with the only upgrades being the Cromodora
wheels and air intake. The original manuals, wheels, and tires are
available with the Uno. Recent maintenance includes fresh fluid and
filter change, new constant velocity joints, new inner and outer
tie rods, and alignment.
