The 1971 Chevrolet K20 4x4 is a truck built for extra duty, and so
when you want your vintage truck to also be a tough one, it's great
to find one that has been used to the fullest. But as you dig
deeper into this unique machine, you'll also see some style added
back to its well-earned appearance.
This truck looks like it would have a cool story. In fact, it was
purchased by the school district in Boulder, Colorado, and we even
have the original Protect-o-Plate warranty tag that identifies them
as the first owner. It spent decades as a more forceful educator
than iron-fist principal. That extra tough front bumper looks like
it could push a school bus. And within it is an extra-duty
transmission-driven winch. The long bed has a thick mat, and under
it, this looks like it spent a lifetime hauling much more than
books. Plus, the rear still has district ID on the bumper, and
below that is an extra-tough alligator hitch. But while this one
wears its workhorse past with pride, there's also something else
here. The well-earned patina on the bold yellow has been cleared
over. This way it preserves the history, and at the same time, it
also helps showcase the decent shape of the sheetmetal. And those
large 20-inch Moto Metal wheels add a nice hint of attitude in the
tall 4x4 stance.
Inside is more of that cool ready-to-work-attitude. But just like
the exterior, this also has been upgraded correctly, too. So while
items like the steering wheel and gearstick let you feel the
history of those who came before you, the reupholstered bench seat
gives you a comfy cloth feeling. Plus, you get features you just
don't see in other trucks, like the mechanical operations for the
winch.
Under the hood is Chevy's hardy 350 cubic-inch V8. While this keeps
the workhorse personality of the rest of the truck, you will also
spot some good investments, like the new alternator and an
Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor. It makes for a strong-running
pickup, and the newer dual exhaust gives it a nice V8 tune. The
four-speed manual transmission gives you full control over this
K20. And the full 4x4 drivetrain, lifted stance, and Accelera M/T
tires mean this is a go-anywhere classic. Plus, features like the
power steering and power brakes w/discs up front are great for the
street or trail.
Complete with owner's manual and warranty card, this is a patina
truck with a cool story and the right features to go with its
extra-duty K20 construction. So at a price like this, you know it
will be gone soon. Call today!!!
