GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1941 Packard 110 Family
Sedan for your consideration. Powering this Packard is an inline 6
paired to a smooth-shifting 3-speed manual. This family sedan was
restored by Ken Kercheval who was an American actor, best known for
his role as Cliff Barnes on the television series Dallas. Ken
restored the car for Arthur Astor of the great Astor family and the
car remained in the collection until 2018 when the current owner
bought it. Then the current owner has hunted down a true original
hood ornament, carburetor, leaf springs, and front springs making
the car even more correct. This car is a true time capsule back to
1941! So if you are in the market for a true classic that no one
else has this is the car for you! Please call or email us today for
more information.
Packard was an American luxury automobile marque built by the
Packard Motor Car Company of Detroit, Michigan, United States. The
first Packard automobiles were produced in 1899, and the last
Detroit-built Packard in 1956, when they built the Packard
Predictor, their last concept car.
The company was considered the preeminent luxury car before World
War II, and contributed aircraft engines for the war effort to
Allied forces.1 #fn1 Owning a Packard was a prestigious accolade,
being the favorite with European Royalty, celebrities, and
Corporate America. President Frankin Roosevelt was known to give
limousines as gifts on several occasions, and surviving examples
can be found in museums, car shows, and automobile collections
worldwide. Occasionally they appear in auctions and typically
command premium prices. Their value was the result of engineering
pursuit with little regard to expense, using the best of everything
in their products. As far as Packard was concerned, the greatest
luxury was mechanical quality, refinement, and reliability above
all else.
