1967 Jeepster Commando Convertible
VIN: 8710101610243
During the mid 1960s, Kaiser detected a growing interest in leisure time use of 4x4 vehicles and capitalized on it with the introduction of a new series called Jeepster Commando. Kaiser Jeep borrowed the names of the Willys Jeepster and the Willys Commando Fire Truck for this sporty vehicle, designed to compete with the Bronco and Land Cruiser.
Produced in 4 models, the Jeepster Convertible is the most desired in the collector car market due to it's great lines and open air driving option. Early versions of the Commando came with many desirable components, including the “Dauntless” V-6, optional TH400 transmission, and full floating Dana 27 front and 44 rear axles. The Commando presented at auction received a body restoration a number of years ago and features the following:
- One Owner Car
- Complete Body Restoration
- Beautiful Yellow and White Paint with Black Convertible Top
- New Interior
- New Convertible Top
- Original 225 cubic inch "Dauntless" V-6 Engine
- Original Automatic Transmission and Running Gear
- Continental Kit Rear Bumper
- Original Trim in Good Condition (two lower rear roll pan pieces missing)
- Straight Body
- Original Utah Title
