This 1976 Jeep Cherokee is a Solid Southern truck that sports most
of it's original paint that has some cool patina. It is a very cool
build that was completed around a year ago. It took around 2 years
to complete and a lot of time and effort went into it to make it a
reliable driver. He was very careful to do things right and this
Jeep runs and drives awesome. The body on this Cherokee is really
nice. It is very original and most of the paint is original. It is
a very solid Jeep with some cool patina and the underside is also
very clean and solid with only surface rust on the bare metal
parts. You will also see some surface rust where the paint is
missing on the truck. The color is Sand Tan. The interior is also
very nice and it was completely taken out and the floor was
Dynamatted for insulation. It has new carpet, new door panels, new
digital speedo/gauge cluster, new set of fully adjustable front
bucket seats (original seats come with vehicle), and the rear seat
was custom reupholstered. He also added Vintage AC and Heat (Heat
Works but AC not completed...all parts there except belt). All
lights, blinkers brake lights, wipers and horn work. The gauge and
speedo is a really cool digital Holley Sniper dash setup that can
use different setups showing the gauge package you like. It plugs
right into the ECU and works seamlessly.
Mechanically this truck is a beast and has a lot of money spent to
make it right. The engine is a 5.3L LS that has around 70,000 miles
on it. It starts, runs, and drives excellent! They added a Full
Holley Terminator X Kit which seamlessly plugs in to the ECU
without hacking the wire harness apart (Basically all new wiring
for the ignition system). Everything done to the swap appears to be
done to a high standard and we put quite a bit of time behind the
wheel with no issues. The transmission is the 4L60E that would have
come with the 5.3L LS engine and it shifts great. It is a rock
solid and dependable GM transmission and they added new custom
front and rear driveshafts when the doing the swap. It is mated to
the np241 Transfer Case and the 4WD works like it should. The
suspension is a Custom Spring Over Axle that is nicely done and it
rides great! Much better than a factory ride. It has a 1 Ton
Cross-Over Steering Setup with High Steer to help keep it stable on
the road and it does a great job. They added all new springs,
shocks, and bushings when this was done. The Rear Axle is a Ford
Dana 60 that was narrowed to fit the Jeep with 4.10 Gears and it is
Posi. The front Axle is also a Ford dana 60 Kingpin that was also
narrowed to fit the Jeep. It also has 4.10 Gears and is Posi. Both
Axles were totally gone through before installing. 4 Wheel Disc
Brakes were also added and the whole brake system was gone through
and is basically new. This is all sitting on a nice set of Rims
with newer 35 Inch All Terrain Tires. COOL RIDE!!!
