For Sale: 1951 Chevrolet Special Deluxe in Lutz, Florida

Vehicle Description

This 1951 Chevrolet Special Sport Coupe is a lot of fun. It has the old-school cruiser look on the outside and plenty of added comforts in the inside. Plus, under the skin is upgraded V8 power, an upgraded suspension, and an overdrive transmission. So if you like distinction, affordability, and usability, it all comes together here.

This makes a great first impression, because these coupes have the long hood and long trunk profile that looks both sporty and premium. The classic details are correct with beautiful brightwork, like the big chrome bumpers, rear fender accents, and the artful trim that encircles the base of the roof. You even have fender skirts. But the clear headlights, LED tail lights, and large dual exhaust tips clue you in on something more. The light green paint has the unmistakable look of an investment with a beautiful shine to let the classic curves flow with a creamy gloss. It goes well with the darker green on the roof. We love that this secondary green is used for everything from the windshield sun shade to the wheels, but that's not even the most impressive detail. It has just a little extra hint of metallic so that this one feels classy, unique, and like an original all at once.

The interior starts to let you in on this coupe's upgraded nature a bit more. The two-tone of the exterior returns on the dash and steering wheel. And speaking of the wheel, it's a Chevy unit, but from the later years when the V8s were around (there's a big hint) and the gear selector is made from an artful piece of aluminum. The seating is done in a tasteful tan that has a comprehensive look with the door panels done to match. You can instantly tell this was built for modern driving, because you never got the individual comfort of front buckets in the 1950s. And not only do you have power adjustments, but also a tilt steering column and a cup holder center console. So you know this classic Chevy can even be comfy for the long haul.

Under the hood will be one of your favorite additions. Chevy's small block era was still a few years away when this one was new, but it now gets a proper 327 cubic-inch V8 upgrade. This even has Quick Fuel four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and shorty headers feeding the dual exhaust. Other handy features you didn't get on a 1950s machine include an alternator, HEI distributor, and an aluminum radiator. So yes, this was built to be a true smooth and powerful runner. In fact, it can take you near or far thanks to the upgraded 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission with highway-ready overdrive. This also has an upgraded independent front end, power steering, and power brakes w/front discs.

This is the classic Chevy that really has all the best upgrades for a true driver's classic. So if you want to look distinctive without giving up the comfort, call today!
