This 1996 Chevrolet Corvette convertible comes in an and rare
awesome color combo, but that's just the beginning of the
desirability. It's a low-mileage two-owner car with ALL the
sought-after features, including the LT4 V8, six-speed manual
transmission, an accessory hardtop, and the F45 adjustable
suspension. So this is an ideal collectible and driver.
It's the final year for the C4 Corvette, and Chevrolet did a
fantastic job of evolving this sleek sports car. The long hood with
flat front end made this look like it was out to cheat the wind,
and this flush-fitting sleekness followed all the lines of the car,
right down to the gas filler flap. That's why the C4, and
especially the convertible, always has embodied what a speedy
machine should be. There's even performance in the paint with a
name like Competition Yellow. The vivid color looks to be the
factory application, and it continues to have a terrific shine you
want well-respected classic that has averaged under 700 miles
annually. The darkness of the black roof and luggage rack look
particularly good against the yellow. And for true distinction,
this also comes with a color-matched hardtop. And since the '96 car
was also the debut of the C4 Grand Sport, this one pays tribute
with the GS fender flares and upgraded wheels.
For the same reason dark exterior accents are attractive against
the exterior yellow, you're going to love taking down the top to
show off the black leather interior. And such low mileage means
everything appears and feels quite fresh. But more than just the
way this one looks, you'll love it because a modern classic
provides all the features you want. It includes power seats, power
windows, power locks, dual airbags, and the premium AM/FM/CD stereo
with Bose speakers. And it's always great to have a convertible
with cold-blowing air conditioning. But what will really excite you
about this C4 is how much this is a driver's machine. The stick
shift feels confident in your hands, and the mix of digital and
analogue gauges give the feeling of piloting a jet fighter.
When shopping for a final-year C4, collectors go looking for the
red cover on the motor. That's the sign of the optional 350
cubic-inch LT4 V8. The 330 hp engine boasted a number of
improvements, including high flow fuel injectors, higher
compression, and a completely revised valvetrain (including
performance cam.) The result was the speedy fun you always knew was
hiding in the sleek lines. With such a desirable upgrade, we are
glad to see this original powerplant looking so correct under the
hood. It's all correct right down to the red Grand Sport tag that
reminds you that only the best got the LT4. With a fully
independent sports suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, grippy ZR
tires, and the full control from the six-speed manual transmission,
this is an impressive performance package. But no matter if you're
a collector or a driver, you'll love the optional F45 Selective
Real Time Damping suspension package. This did not find many takers
in 1996 because it was one of the most expensive options on the
list...but this one has it!
The sale comes complete with the reproduction window sticker,
buildsheet, and owner's manual. The best features, the best color
combo, and the best year all come together in this outstanding C4
convertible. So at a price like this you know you need to hurry.
