GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this AM General Hummer H1 for
your consideration. This Hummer H1 comes in a clean Firehouse Red
paint job complemented by a clean like new grey interior. Powering
this beast of a car is a 6.5 L V8 diesel paired to a
smooth-shifting automatic transmission. The Hummer H1 has a
generous 130" wide wheelbase and runs on aggressive tires. The
2-piece steel wheels include magnesium-aluminum alloy inserts for
run-flat ability. The stock tire size is 3712.516.5, and most
aftermarket wheels do not have the CTIS ability. The Hummer H1 top
speed is limited to 96 mph to protect the heavy-duty axles.
Considering the Hummer H1 is one of the widest street-legal SUVs,
it is heavy. Considering it was engineered to handle a cannon,
missiles, troops, and body armor, the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating
is 10,300 lbs. The diesel engine alone is a major contributor, so
it is needless to say it is not a light ride. So if you want to
have a ride that's different from the rest this is the ride for
you! Please call or email us today for more information.
The Hummer H1 is a four-wheel-drive utility vehicle based on the
M998 Humvee, which was created by AM General. The vehicle was
produced from 1992 through 2006, and was the first of what became
the Hummer line. Originally designed strictly for military use, the
off-road vehicle was released to the civilian market due to market
demand. It was initially known as the "Hummer"; however, under a
1999 deal, GM bought marketing rights to the Hummer name and called
the vehicle the Hummer H1.2 #fn2 At the time, GM began marketing
the Hummer H2 that was also assembled by AM General on a modified
GMC 2500HD chassis. AM General continued to build the H1 and Humvee
in its Mishawaka, Indiana facility. GM stopped marketing the H1 in
2006 model year, but AM General continued production of the
military Humvee versions.
