Vehicle Description
STK 2817 1978 Cadillac Seville Elegante
The Cadillac Seville was introduced in 1975 as a new
'International' size Cadillac. It was almost 1,000 pounds lighter
than the full-size model, much more nimble, but still Cadillac
luxurious. Beginning with the GM X-body platform, Cadillac
engineers reworked much of the chassis design and created the
K-body platform that was unique to the Seville. Our Cadillac is a
Seville 'Elegante' model, a luxury option to the base Seville that
was first introduced in 1978. This Elegante is an all-original
example except for one professional 2-stage respray in 2015. The
owner states that the odometer reading of just over 30,200 miles is
actual. Its exterior was refinished in original 2-tone Ruidoso
Brown Metallic and Western Saddle Firemist and is in outstanding
condition. Factory chrome 'Long Spike Wire Wheels', standard on the
Elegante, mount 15" Hankook whitewall radials. The original Antique
Medium Saddle Sierra Grain perforated leather interior is in
excellent condition. Convenience features include power seats,
power tinted-windows/locks, tilt/telescopic wheel, cruise and
sunroof. Mounted in the dash is a rare factory Cadillac option -
the AM/FM/8-Track stereo. The Seville is powered by a 350ci engine
(gasoline) that was sourced by Cadillac from GM's Oldsmobile
Division and fitted with Bendix/Bosch electronic fuel injection. We
are told that this cast iron (block/heads) motor has not been
rebuilt. It is a dependable, smooth running powerplant that
delivers 270lb/ft of torque to a three-speed automatic gearbox.
Finally, the Seville's chassis incorporates power steering and
4-wheel power disc brakes. This sharp, low-mileage Cadillac Seville
Elegante is a well-maintained eye-catcher that will not be here
long. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
