This 1952 GMC Pickup is on a 1978 3/4 ton Chevy frame with 454 and 2 speed transmission. 2wd but opportunity for 4x4. Starts right up, drives and stops good. Lifted body with leaf springs and 35” wheels. Diamond plate bed with truck bed coating. Black interior with gray bucket seats. Not a show truck, is a driver being an older resto but in really good condition with new paint in 2017. This truck can be great with a little work.
The good...THE LOOK, who doesn’t like these Advanced Design trucks and lifted with big tires just adds to the styling!! The ride is better than you’d expect with a lifted truck on 35s. Windshield wipers work. The paint, overall is good but not perfect, show paint. Strong starting and running 454. Set up for 4x4. I didn’t do the bodywork but I’ve had a magnet all over the truck and it sticks. The rubber has plenty of tread left.
The not-so-good...it’s only 2wd due to broken U-Joints. (I’ve come down on the price instead of fixing it). The 4wd works but the driveshaft is missing. There’s some run-on when shutting off in park due to a high idle, so I shut down in drive. The fuel gauge does not work and the side steps could use some new paint. There are some nicks and scratches in the paint as indicated in the pictures.
Feel free to contact me and I’d be willing to show you the truck over a video call.
