For Sale: 1968 Chevrolet Camaro in Little Rock, Arkansas

Vehicle Description

Up for sale is this absolutely beautiful 1968 Chevrolet Camaro restored as a tribute to the iconic Yenko. This is believed to be a true Arkansas car with NCRS documentation stating that the car was officially produced on 10/24/1967 and delivered to Russell Chevrolet Company in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

This Camaro has been frame-off restored to a high quality with an attention to detail that is hard to find. The current owner built the car after studying the history and attributes of increasingly valuable and hard-to-find original Don Yenko created Camaro. Today, the car features attributes that pay tribute to the historical original with a few modern amenities, creating a unique driving experience.

Taking a look at the exterior of the car, you will quickly notice Yenko features such as the Yenko hood and new correct Pontiac Rally II 15" RedLine wheels wrapped in Firestone RedLine Coker tires. This car offers mostly original sheet metal with the only replacement metal being the rear body panel. The paint was done to a high quality and the vinyl top shows as new. The car has a mix of new and nice original trim pieces to accent the body lines. The glass is new tinted green. The car has a great stance with rebuilt front and rear suspension components including a larger sway bar in the front and new multi-leaf springs in the rear.

Inside, the first thing you notice is the amazing black interior featuring seats with new covers and foam, new headliner and edging, new carpet, new dash pad, and new door panels. The car is equipped with heat and sound deadener. Finally, the car does have the correct Stewart Warner gauges, Yenko badging, Vintage A/C, and all new weather stripping.

Mechanically, the car is extremely stout. The car has a 1971-1979 454c.i. block bored 30 over. It features a 427 steel crank that is built stronger for high performance. The motor is balanced with 10 to 1 compression, features APR fasteners, hypereatectic pistons, H-Beam rods, roller rollers, matching 1968 closed chamber heads that were used on a 375HP 396c.i. and 435HP 427c.i. motors, and an aluminum radiator that supports up to 700HP. The car has a Comp cam and full specs are available upon request. The motor is paired with a rebuilt Muncie M-20 4 speed manual transmission with Hurst shifter that shifts flawlessly. The car has a positive 308 rear end that has been rebuilt. To stop the car, you'll enjoy 4 wheel disc brakes with a 9" power brake booster, new master cylinder and all new brake lines.

This car has 150 miles on it since the restoration was complete 12 months ago and shows very nice.

Depending on the source, you will find that there is an estimated 20-25 true 1968 Camaro Yenkos known to still exist. For more information on the history of the 1968 Yenko Camaro: https://www.hemmings.com/stories/article/1968-yenko-super-camaro
