This is a real Super Sport with vin #s matching motor. It has been
professionally built to high performance specs. The body was off
frame and put on a rotisserie for a complete restoration. It was a
California car with clean original body. A pile of documentation
will be included documenting it's history and build specs. It has
been driven 1,000 miles, never on a drag strip. The last trip it
went on was 80 miles. It's not a cross country car but it is built
like a race car that you can drive.
EXTERIOR: The body is amazing on this car, appears to be the
original metal. It's straight, everything fits real square and
flush. It's smooth everywhere, even along the bottoms. I didn't see
any signs of damage or rust. It has a Glastec 4 inch cowl induction
hood. Repainted bright torch red, no vinyl top. It is real smooth,
glossy and bright. All new chrome and emblems. New chrome bumpers,
emblems, bowtie mirrors, door handles and taillights. The grill and
stainless trim has all been replaced. The door jambs are painted
slick, weatherstrips and window seals were replaced. In the video I
said I thought the glass is all new. Actually the windshield is
new, the rest is very good original glass. Stainless bolts were
used throughout the car.
INTERIOR: It is completely restored inside. It has a real nice
looking 6 point stainless steel roll cage, it's bolted in and could
be removed. It also has racing harness seatbelts attached. The
original radio was rebuilt with Fm stereo, auxiliary plug and CD
changer. A command center has switches for start, fans, trans brake
and line lock. It uses a Cheetah pro series shifter. The seats are
all recushioned and reupholstered. New door panels, armrests,
window cranks and handles. New carpet. The metal inside is painted
gloss red. It has a full set of custom gauges. Stock SS steering
wheel is on a tilt column.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It is the original vin #s matching 396 with
original heads. Pro built by Pake's engines and now makes 600+
horsepower. It has 30 over TRW pistons, roller Comp cam, CDY roller
rockers. The heads were ported and polished, has Manley valves. The
Victor aluminum intake is port matched to the heads and has a
Holley 750 pro series carb with K&N filter. It also has Hooker
headers and MSD ignition system with dual Rev control. It has a
nice set of aluminium valve covers with K&N breathersThe front
if the motor has March pulleys and serpentine belt system and a 1
wire high output alternator. 28 inch aluminum radiator with dual
electric fans and high flow aluminum water pump. Stainless steel
braided fuel lines, heater hoses and radiator hoses. The firewall
and under the hood are painted real slick red, the hinges are
chrome. Everything is done to show quality standards.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The battery is relocated to the trunk. It's a
gel cell with a disconnect switch. Clean original metal, there's no
patches. I looked up inside the quarters there's no splices. It has
a nice clean spatter finish. The bottom of the trunk lid and jamb
are gloss red. New weatherstrip.
UNDERSIDE: Stainless steel upper and lower adjustable control arms
in back. Bottom of the motor is clean, it has a high torque
starter. B&C race built Turbo 400 automatic with reverse manual
valve body, trans brake, extra capacity oil pan, 3,500 stall
converter and external oil cooler. Balanced pro series driveshaft
with safety loops. Original 12 bolt posi rebuilt with 4.10 gears,
31 spline Moser axles and aluminum cover. Wilwood brake system with
drilled discs at all 4 wheels. New factory fuel tank modified with
a sump. Custom braided fuel lines, electric pump, regulator,
pressure gauges, fittings, filter etc. 3 inch stainless exhaust
with H-pipe.
It is very unusual to see a high performance build like this and to
find out it's a real #s matching SS. It is also unusual to see a
car built to such high quality with these performance upgrades. The
intention was not to make a race car, but a very fast street car to
drive and show. I say they succeeded in both!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
detail.
