1989 La Forza 5.0 SUV. This is an opportunity to secure an in incredibly rare 1989 La Forza 5.0 SUV. The Rayton-Fissore Magnum Italian-designed and built luxury off-roader was originally intended for military and police use, but this Tom Tjaarda-designed version, fitted with a sumptuous Italian leather interior in the spirit of the Maerati Biturbo, was marketed as a luxury 4x4. These rare SUVs styled by Tjaarda of DeTomaso Pantera fame, who also designed for Ferrari and Lamborghini, were built by Pininfarina S.p.A. car design firm and coachbuilder. They are seldom seen and highly collectible. This VIN #247, of the first and only 250 US units delivered in 1989, was not only designed by Tjaarda, but also driven off the assembly line by him personally. (VIN#s 245-250 were driven off the assembly line by Tjaarda in front of the press, company VIPs and members of the Fissore family). This was the press car for La Forza in 1989, shown in ad magazines promoting the brand. It was also a background vehicle in the Santa Barbara polo scene in the 1990 movie Pretty Woman with Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. It’s powered by the Ford V8 version and is well optioned, featuring Level 1 Security protection (aka, bulletproof) and heavy-duty military grade front and rear suspension, silence choice, "blackout" brake lights. All-original interior and powertrain, with about 89,000 miles. Also includes original books and stiletto pocket knife keychain that came with the car. It enjoyed long-term ownership and has been in a California collection for many years.
