This 1986 Chevy K-20 Scottsdale is a beautiful truck that came from
Oregon before being brought to Michigan by a Collector. Once he
brought it here he did a selective restoration. This was a rust
free Pacific Northwest truck when he bought it and he bought with
the miles showing being original based on the information he
received. We do believe the mileage is original based on the
underside and original engine compartment. The last owner of this
truck owned a body shop so the paint was done right and no body
work had to be done.
The body on this K20 is extremely nice and solid and we found no
evidence of rust or rust repair. The truck was taken apart when
painted and they added new rubbers and seals. This is a
professional Paint job and the paint looks excellent!! Truck was
originally Light Blue and now is Dark Blue Metallic. They also
added new chrome bumpers and new side moldings to go along with the
seals and rubber. Th underside is also exceptionally clean and it
was sprayed in a nice rock guard coating to keep it clean...there
is no rust or rust repair on the undercarriage. This was done for
aesthetic purpose only. The interior is also excellent and was
removed when painted. The inside metal was painted to match. The
dash, instrument cluster, and door panels are original and
excellent. The seat was recovered and new carpet was installed. All
lights, gauges, heat are working and the only thing not working was
the horn.
Mechanically this truck runs and drives excellent!! The original
350 V8 is believed to be original and it has a 4 Barrel Carb. The
engine runs strong with no issues that we could find. It is totally
stock under the hood and clean!! They did add dual exhaust and it
recently had a new water pump installed, new radiator, and had the
carburetor rebuilt. The transmission is a Turbo 400 Automatic that
shifts smooth and is mated to the np208 Transfer case. The 4WD
works as it should. It has Corporate 14 Bolt Rear End and a 10 Bolt
Front End and they both have 4.10 gears. Other recent work includes
new shocks and brake lines.
