Body off frame restoration, only 2,806 miles since finished. It
retains it's vintage looks with some modern touches. Mechanics were
upgraded with more modern, reliable and better performing
components.
EXTERIOR: The body is straight and smooth. Painted the signature
colors- Gypsy Red and Shoreline Beige. It is polished out to a
glossy finish. It appears that every piece of stainless and chrome
has been replaced. The door jambs are repainted real nice and have
new hardware, latches and weatherstrips. The power convertible top
is in excellent shape. It rolls on 17 inch polished Budnick wheels
and BFGoodrich tires. The tires are a little bit fatter in the
back.
INTERIOR: Completely restored. It has the correct tight loop carpet
and matching mats. The seats feel like they've been rebuilt because
they are firm. New reproduction upholstery on the seats and door
panels. It has factory power windows. The dash is restored
beautifully. It's painted smooth and glossy, all the chrome trim
and knobs have been replaced. It has a retro stereo with new
speakers. Under the dash looks new, the heater box, vents,
insulation have been replaced. Upgraded billet pedals and a new
chrome tilt column with a Budnik steering wheel.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Upgraded with the powerful and reliable
Corvette LT-1 350-300 hp motor. It features aluminum heads and
electronic sequential port fuel injection. The exhaust manifolds
were ceramic coated. The front of the motor has the modern
serpentine belt, alternator and power steering. There is also an
upgraded power brake system. A big aluminum radiator keeps it cool.
Everything is painted and restored really well too.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It's solid metal and completely painted
Shoreline beige. New wiring, trunk mat and weatherstrip. The
battery has been relocated to the trunk, there is also a CD
changer. It has a spare tire that's never been used on a red rim
and the original jack. It also has a built in battery tender hooked
to the battery.
UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame for restoration. The chassis
was completely taken apart, rebuilt and painted black. The front
end has tubular upper control arms, replaced bushings, balljoints,
shocks and steering components. It also has been upgraded with a
swaybar. Looking up at the motor it is clean, has a high torque
starter. The trans was upgraded with an overdrive automatic. A
custom driveshaft connects to the original rear end. The rear was
apart and gone through. It has a stock type dual exhaust system.
Custom stainless fuel tank. Rebuilt brake system- lines, hoses,
disc in front. E-brake assembly is hooked up. The floors are all
clean metal painted body color.
This car really looks like it was taken apart down to the last nut
and bolt. It feels right too, the little I did drive it I was
impressed. It is a classic looking 55 Chevy with upgrades that make
it very user friendly. Don't just look at it, go out and enjoy
it!
