Vehicle Description
A car like this 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Club Victoria was a premium
car when new, and so this hardtop loves to keep that attitude
today. The shining two-tone, V8 power, and all the right classic
car extras make it a standout stunner today just like when it hit
the streets nearly 65 years ago.
The impressiveness starts with the color. The two-tone Flame Red
and white is a modern paint that was added during a thorough
restoration. The high gloss of both colors means this one looks
good no matter what angle the sunlight hits it. Plus, it has that
premium style where the full-length silver and gold trim provides
the primary dividing line for the two-tone. But we like this trim
for far more than just a border. It's the centerpiece for the car's
style as it shows off the straightness of the sheetmetal and the
well-crafted line that starts the tailfin. A 1950s machine needs
excellent brightwork, and you better believe the ladies can check
their makeup in the bumper's reflection. Plus, there are all the
best premium cruise touches, like whitewall tires, wire wheels,
rear fender skirts, and a continental kit that's even painted in
the car's two-tone.
The same color theme continues inside with the red and white
intertwined on the door panels, dash, carpeting, and headliner.
It's a clean total presentation with the two-tone seats even
protected in plastic. The view from behind the wheel is pure 1950s
cool. Ford's arching instrument panel is a great-looking piece of
industrial design, and it comes complete with plenty of bright trim
to accentuate the dash. But while this looks accurate, it's also
not hard to spot upgrades. There are premium features you don't
find on many other 1950s cars like power windows, upgraded
speakers, and provisions for an upgraded R134a air conditioning
system (it will need servicing before blowing cold again.) The
front seat even power adjusts to your ideal position.
Underneath the sporty forward-tilt hood is a period correct 312
cubic-inch V8. It was known as the "Thunderbird Special" in '57,
and so the callouts on the valve covers have been earned. The
sharp-looking engine paint and overall tidy presentation tell you
it got the right attention in the restoration. Plus, it has been
upgraded with everything from a 12-volt system to a newer
compressor. Topped with a four-barrel carburetor, this V8 delivers
smooth performance and plenty of torque to move the big coupe with
ease. The Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission makes driving
effortless. Add in the power steering, power brakes, and upgraded
front discs, and you've got the recipe for a great cruiser.
This Fairlane 500 is the sharp-looking hardtop with a terrific
two-tone inside and out. So when you find a well-restored premium
Ford like this, you know it needs to get in your garage. Call
