Vehicle Description
This 1986 Chevrolet C20 Silverado pickup is just a very nice,
factory-correct vintage pickup that was restored right. Nothing
radical, just a super clean long bed truck with a smart-running
small block V8, a sharp Frost White paint job that sticks to the
factory recipe, and a comfortable A/C interior. Loaded with
originality and refreshed for the modern world, this is simply a
lot of truck for the money.
You already know we love these trucks around our showroom and we
probably sell more of them than just about anyone else. So, it
makes sense that when a nice one shows up, everyone takes notice
and gathers around. This pretty Frost White C20 Silverado has that
rugged, square-jawed look that makes these 'Square-Body' trucks the
latest and greatest collector-value haulers on the market today,
and the repainted finish is really quite good. It's not so nice
that you'll be afraid to put it to work, but when you get home and
hose it off it'll look good enough to go out to dinner that night.
It's not flashy, but if a pickup can be elegant, this truck nails
it. Nice chrome bumpers, a heavy-duty rear bumper, and oversized
mirrors make it practical as well as attractive and you can tell
just by looking in the 8-foot bed that this truck has probably
never had to work for a living. It was painted to match the body,
and then protected with a vinyl mat, so if you want to pull away
half of Home Depot with you it certainly has the capability. All
the factory trim was retained during the re-spray as well,
including the iconic front grille, the stock bumper up front, the
oversized chrome bumper in the rear, and the lower molding on the
profile that perfectly breaks up the white paint.
The contrasting blue interior is typical GM no-nonsense, with a
wide bench seat, a handsome wrap-around dash, and plenty of
creature comforts for on-the-road comfort. There are recent blue
carpets on the floor and a newer seat cover in a sturdy OEM-grade
cloth and vinyl combo, and even the door panels and wrap-around
dash were replaced with OEM-correct units as well, showing no UV
damage or any of the usual cracking these '80s materials showed so
quickly back in the day. The factory gauges ahead of the driver
look fresh as well and monitor all the engine's vitals, all
surrounded by a nice-looking gray gauge bezel. Features include
cold R134a A/C, power locks, power windows, cruise control, tilt
steering, and a stock AM/FM/Cassette stereo system and all of it is
in working order. The transmission shifter is on the column, joined
by an original Chevrolet steering wheel, and it feels great in the
hands of the driver thanks to a strong power steering system that
moves this long-bed with ease. Up top the headliner was finished to
match the rest of the truck, vinyl floor mats protect the carpets
below, and seatbelts are part of the package that's itemized on the
options sticker that's still in place inside the glove box.
For power, this Chevy relies on a tried-and-true 350 cubic inch V8
that's numbers-matching and running incredibly smooth, to the point
that we were all very impressed by its performance. It's all
factory-stock, so reliability is not compromised and it still
starts, idles, and drives exactly like the factory intended. The
engine bay is incredibly clean, suggesting that this truck has
never really ventured too far off road, and there are signs of
recent maintenance throughout. The transmission is a darn-near
indestructible TH400 3-speed automatic that never seems to mind
doing the heavy lifting, and with a factory-optioned heavy-duty
chassis and stock 14-bolt rear-end with 4.11 gears, you could pull
a mountain with this beast. Underneath there's exactly zero
evidence of rot and as a lifetime Texas truck, it's probably never
seen anything worse than a rain storm. A dual exhaust system gives
it the right sound, and with power steering and power front disc
brakes the ride is fantastic. Given all the lifted trucks with
oversized wheels we see saturating the market, we have to say we
LOVE the simple white steelies and Bowtie hubcaps on this big C20,
which carry grippy Michelin radials with plenty of tread life.
Nothing radical here, just a nicely finished truck with great
maintenance and no stories. If your tastes run more towards stock
than modified, then this Chevy deserves a closer look, and the
original owner's manuals, original warranty card, and original bill
of sale are incredible finds as well. Call today!
