Vehicle Description
1956 Chevrolet Nomad -High-Quality Multi-Award Winning Show Car
This one begs to be driven! You will never regret investing in a
vehicle that was built for the high-end shows (our seller turned
down the Concours d'Elegance invitation!) and yet loves the open
road as much as you do! She has traveled less than 1,050 miles
since completion. Please read carefully to understand the added
value of investing in a turn-key, finished vehicle that a seller
has put his heart and money into.
This description was provided by our seller:
This is a complete restoration that started in 2014 and was
completed in 2015 with tons of attention given to all the little
details that make it a multi-award-winning show car. The car has
always been stored in a climate-controlled building since
restoration was completed. Some vehicles never quite get to that
100%, always something little that needs to be done. Not this
Nomad, the necessary time and money was spent to ensure this was
100% complete with all the "little things" taken care of and
finished. The vehicle always gets attention where ever it is driven
and is a favorite at the local car shows and cruises. EXTERIOR: The
vehicle was in great shape (already being shown as a super solid
driver) when the restoration to its current configuration was
started. Since it was in good shape, it was easy to remove all
existing paint from the original sheet metal for sealing, priming,
blocking, and Dupont Chroma base coat / clear coat of the red and
white paint.OEM metal ensures all the body gaps are even, panel
alignment is straight, and no wavy panels. There are no dings,
dents, scratches, or chips. All original stainless was reworked and
massaged and polished to show quality. Chrome was replaced with new
or re-plated. Rear liftgate factory torsion bars were removed and
strut lift assists were added for easy 1 finger operation. Liftgate
was removed and sent to Madmook's in CA (arguably the best in the
country) to be straightened and re-chromed, to better than factory
new. All glass is new, with all new seals. No scratches or chips.
INTERIOR: A lot of time and attention was spent on the interior,
this is one area where the details matter! Custom, made by hand,
stainless steel sill plates, Ciadella's ultra-leather custom Ray
London design interior, seat covers, and panels with all the Bel
Air trim. Look close at the carpet and you will not see any seams
or bindings. Because the carpet was hand-stitched inside the car to
eliminate all these. All hardware was replaced with new stainless
steel screws and even all the screw heads are "clocked" the same
way all throughout the car, they are at 12, 3, 6, and 9! Custom
padded dash. IDIDIT chrome tilt steering column. Steering wheel
wrapped with same ultra-leather material as seat covers. Auto Meter
classic look gauges. The stereo is mounted under the front seat
with remote control. Speakers are mounted under the rear seat.
Vintage Air and Heat - which works great, even on the warmest of
days. MECHANICAL: Rebuilt 355 Chevy with mild cam and roller
rockers - Runs strong with no issues. Never an issue with
overheating, even with the A/C blowing ice cold. Rebuilt 200R4
Transmission, with Art Carr Stage 2 Transmission components
installed 1,050 miles driven since restoration was completed. Power
Steering with new CPP 500 box with all new shafts and rag joints.
Power Disc Brakes up front, drums in the rear with all new
components. SUSPENSION: All suspension has been rebuilt using MOOG
components and KYB gas shocks all around with sway bars. All
steering components were rebuilt or new. Receipts and over 100
pictures of the restoration process are included with the sale. The
car drives straight and everything is as tight as it should be.
