Vehicle Description
This 1979 F-150 is one of the cleanest trucks we have come across.
After being assembled in Virginia, in 1979 this truck was sold new
in Charlotte N.C. For the next ~40 this truck stayed in North
Carolina, before coming up to our showroom in Milford, Michigan.
Years of southern sunshine were good to this truck: it is
incredibly clean. The odometer reads 38,983. There is no way to
verify this as the actual mileage, but the truck is clean enough
that it easily could be. The paint is in the original color and has
held up quite well. The chrome bumpers and trim are in excellent
condition. Fresh B.F. Goodrich tires wrapped around aluminum U.S.
Mag wheels look great and are sure to perform well. It would take
some very serious terrain to get this 4x4 stuck. A 2" suspension
lift has also been installed.
Under the hood lies the original 351cid Windsor V-8. The engine is
in great condition, runs very strong, and starts up immediately. It
has been very well maintained, and the plugs, plug wires,
distributor, battery, alternator, and coolant hoses appear new. A
Vintage A.C. system has been installed on the truck, which utilizes
the factory climate control vents. The engine is mated to a 3 speed
automatic transmission that shifts very smoothly. This 4x4 is
equipped with 3.50:1 gears in both front and rear axles. This F-150
is a very nice truck to drive, the power brakes and power steering
work perfectly. The engine feels fresh and powerful; the truck will
tow anything it's hooked up to.
This truck was optioned a Ranger XLT, with a vinyl bench seat and
headliner, and wood trim in the dash. The original interior is in
fantastic condition. All the gauges, lights, indicators work as
designed. The dash is not cracked or faded. The vinyl bench seat is
in great condition. The original radio has been replaced by a new
Pioneer head unit. It was clearly professionally installed: it fits
perfectly in the dash and all the wiring is neat. The Vintage A.C.
control unit works and was also neatly installed. The vintage
styling on the unit allows it to blend in with the original
instrumentation. The truck also has a trailer brake control system
installed; it works flawlessly. This F-150 needs absolutely nothing
and is ready for anything you could throw at it.
