Vehicle Description
1960 STUDEBAKER LARK. THIS CAR IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. IT
WAS ORIGINALLY BORN WITH A 259CI V8 BUT WAS RECENTLY UPGRADED TO A
REBUILT STUDEBAKER 289CI V8 OUT OF A 1963 STUDEBAKER HAWK. THIS
ENGINE RUNS FANTASTIC. IT STARTS RIGHT UP AND DOES NOT HAVE ANY
ISSUES WHATSOEVER. IT WAS ALSO UPGRADED FROM A 3SPD MANUAL
TRANSMISSION TO A BORG WARNER T-10 4SPD TRANSMISSION. THIS
TRANSMISSION WAS ALSO OUT OF A 1963 STUDEBAKER HAWK. NOT KNOWN IF
IT WAS EVER REBUILT BUT IT SHIFTS GREAT. DO KNOW AT THE TIME THE
CLUTCH, PRESSURE PLATE AND THROW OUT BEARING WERE REPLACED. IT IS
CONNECTED TO A HURST SHIFTER AND BELIEVE ME THIS CAR IS AN ABSOLUTE
BLAST TO DRIVE. THE CAR CRUISES AT 55 MILES AN HOUR I BELIEVE THE
REAR HAS 373 GEARS IN IT AND SCREAMS AT 70MPH. AT THAT TIME ALL THE
BELTS, HOSES,FUEL PUMP, FUEL LINES, HEATER BOX, HEATER LINES AND
ANYTHING I HAVE FORGOTTEN HAVE BEEN REPLACED. THE CAR WENT THRU A
PRETTY COMPREHENSIVE RESTORATION 3 YEARS AGO. THE CAR RECEIVED A
BETTER THEN NEW PAINT JOB THAT IS OUTSTANDING. AT THAT TIME ALL THE
CHROME AND RUBBER WERE REMOVED. THE TRIM AND BUMPERS WERE SENT OUT
AND RECHROMED. AS YOU CAN SEE IT ALL LOOKS FANTASTIC. ALL THE
RUBBER WAS REPLACED TO NEW. THAT INCLUDES EVERY PIECE OF RUBBER
INCLUDING FRONT WINDSHIELD, REAR WINDOW AND EVERYTHING ELSE. AND OF
COURSE THERE IS NO OVERSPRAY ON THE CAR. THE PAINT JOB IS
OUTSTANDING. THERE IS HOWEVER ONE AREA THAT WAS NOT PREPARED
PROPERLY AND THAT IS ON THE TOP OF THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR QUARTER
PANEL. IF I WAS KEEPING I WOULD FIX IT. OTHER THAN THAT THE PAINT
IS DEEP AND RICH. WAY BETTER THAN WHEN IT WAS NEW. ALL THE PANELS
ARE RAZOR STRAIGHT THERE ARE NO WAVES. I HAVE GONE OVER THIS CAR
SEVERAL TIMES AND FIND THAT THERE WAS MINIMAL BONDO USED YOU HAVE
TO REALLY LOOK FOR IT. THE FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS WERE RECHROMED.
ALL THE STAINLESS IS EXCELLENT I IMAGINE ITS ALL BEEN RECHROMED.
ALL THE DOOR HANDLES AND BOTH MIRRORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND ARE
PERFECT. ALL THE BADGES HAVE ALSO BEEN REPLACED.
