How do you even begin to describe an all-out awesome build like
this 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle 454 Procharged? Do you start with the
sleek paint? The huge investment in straight bodywork? The upgraded
leather interior? The supercharged big block pumping out serious
street-eating muscle? There are just too many great details on this
restoration build that you're just going to need to read all of
this.
There was a serious investment in fully restoring this car, and
that was less than 6,800 miles ago. So you see cleanliness
everywhere, and it starts with the slick paint. The burnt orange is
deep, rich, and so well done that you almost can't resist running
your fingers down its flanks just to see if it's still wet. And
there's a terrific metallic element that really radiates in the
sunlight. This kind of quality shine is a central theme of this
coupe. The bumpers look like mirrors, and all the trim is bright -
including the special 1968 full length line that starts at the
headlights and dips low into the rockers. But just because this
coupe has been pampered, doesn't mean it has lost its aggressive
muscle car attitude. There are touches of Super Sport style nicely
integrated in places like the dual power dome hood and the blackout
lower body section. Polished American Racing wheels with 17/18 inch
front/rear stance add to both the car's outstanding shine and
overall muscle car appeal.
The interior has the same freshness of quality as the exterior, and
the black is a stylish choice against the outside orange paint.
They upgraded this one in the right places, including leather
upholstery with modern well-bolstered bucket seats up front. But
they also kept the vintage pieces you love, like the center console
with horseshoe shifter. In fact, you can tell it's a
detail-oriented build. It's built for modern enjoyment with an
upgraded AM/FM Bluetooth radio and upgraded stereo speakers
featuring a JBL 1000 watt amp. It has even been outfitted with air
conditioning, though it is not currently hooked up. This has an
upgraded wood and chrome sports steering wheel, and the gauges have
been upgraded to a full AutoMeter Pro-Comp package with large
speedo and tach.
When you pop the hood, there's a true beast inside. But it's also a
beauty thanks to the low mileage freshness. In fact, dig a little
deeper to really see the details that tell you this is a quality
build. Not only are the inner fenders color-matched, but they are
custom contoured for this special motor. And the block even matches
the exterior paint, too! This is a 454 cubic-inch V8, and while big
block power is enough for many people, this one really takes it to
a whole new level with a Procharger supercharger! You've also got a
Holley intake, long tube headers, and a Holley carburetor specially
built by Carburetor Solutions Unlimited to be optimized with this
supercharger. This monster motor is also supported by the right
components, including an Optima red top battery, MSD ignition
setup, steel braided fuel lines, AN fittings, and a new radiator
with dual electric fans. The 700R4 four-speed automatic
transmission is a stout unit, and they even installed a new one
with this build that also includes a new torque converter. That
feeds a 12-bolt 4.10 rear end for powerful take-offs. This is the
kind of setup that can be a true dragstrip star, and it also knows
how to lay some serious rubber down on your favorite two-lane
blacktop. But it's a full overall build that can be enjoyed for
more tame time, too, thanks to power steering, grippy ZR-rated
tires, and four-wheel power disc brakes.
