Vehicle Description
This 1983 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 already has you hooked with its
great period presentation that these earlier 3rd-gens are known
for, but rarely still seen today. And more than just look
retro-cool, the deeper you dig, the more you discover that this is
a loaded coupe with a fuel-injected V8 and overdrive
transmission.
The full color package is what makes this Z/28 leave a terrific
first impression. This was first purchased in Arizona, and the
beige with golden stripes just looks like the last moments of a
desert sunset. It's the correct color combo for this car, but it
was updated later in life. There are even custom elements like the
Firebird fender vents. And we love the striping that starts at the
hood, runs through the doors, and goes up the b-pillar to meet on
the roof. The full presentation has some room for improvement if
you want to take some of the savings on this value-priced classic
and reinvest in custom details. Plus, you have all the best Z/28
pieces, like the rear spoiler and special 15-inch wheels. And the
Z-car's black hood trim and headlight buckets go with the other
dark trim on the car. It makes for a total package that looks
absolutely vintage and seriously sporty.
The interior has an impressively preserved presentation. In fact,
it's even believed that this coupe stayed with one family most of
its life, and so it shows better care then you'd expect on a car
approaching its 40th birthday. Bucket seats and a center console
give this a great driver's classic feeling. The sports steering
wheel has an open top design and it's on a tilt column. So it gives
you a good view of the full gauge package. And Camaro fans know
that only the first few years had the distinct dual mph/kph
speedometer. This does have a low odometer, but we do not have any
documentation to suggest or dispute it reflects the car's actual
mileage. This Camaro also has the best useful factory features,
like a premium Delco AM/FM/cassette stereo, cruise control, and
cold-blowing air conditioning.
Under the hood is another rarity. The 305 cubic-inch V8 with
Cross-Fire fuel injection. This was only available for two years,
and so it gives this coupe added distinction, especially because
it's believed to be original to the car. This V8 fires up nicely,
runs smoothly, and the four-speed automatic transmission gives you
easy cruising overdrive. Plus, with features like power steering,
power brakes, front dies, and the Z/28's sports suspension, this
classic remains a solid all-around driver.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual, maintenance
records, and even the factory buildsheet. Don't let this cool
Camaro end up in someone else's garage. Call now!
