For Sale: 1972 Oldsmobile 442 in Alpharetta, Georgia

Vehicle Description

ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS, FULLY RESTORED, 1972 OLDSMOBILE CUTLASS SUPREME CONVERTIBLE WITH THE 442 PACKAGE...COMPLETELY REBUILT, LOW MILEAGE 455 4 BBL, AUTOMATIC, POWER STEERING, POWER DISC BRAKES, A/C, AND SO MUCH MORE....READY TO SHOW AND GO!!!

Spring is here and this 1972 442 optioned Cutlass Supreme convertible is ready to be driven and enjoyed!!! For some reason Oldsmobile got rid of the 442 ViN designation so it is difficult to be sure if this car was originally ordered with the 442 package or if it was added on but regardless this car is absolutely stunning and received a very high end restoration.  We believe this car spent a good part of its life in Florida and was then purchased by a guy in Minnesota in 2004. He then began a 2 year restoration that was completed in 2006 and resulted in a show stopping example of a 442 Convertible.  He kept extensive records of the restoration which will be included in the sale and the cost of the restoration exceeded the current asking price for this beauty.  At the time of restoration a period correct 455 4bbl was installed replacing the original 350 4bbl that was a 442 option motor as well.  Although the restoration is now 15 years old, it looks like it could have been just done this past year and there has been very few miles put on since the restoration. another gentleman bought the car in 2009 and only put about 2000 miles on it during his ownership. We purchased it from him and it is now available for the net lucky owner to drive and enjoy...maybe you?!!! I am also a licensed transport broker and can assist in getting the lucky new owner a great rate on enclosed transport anywhere in the country. I also welcome overseas buyers and can assist in getting the car to the port of  your choice. Be sure to look at all of the pics and watch the video walk around and hear it start up and running.

Beautiful restoration done between 2004-2006 resulted in a laser straight, rust free body with an absolutely
gorgeous paint job in an original 1972 color called Flame Orange Metallic. According to the trim tag the car started as a green car but it is hard to argue with the beauty of this color on this car. As you can see it has an OEM Ran Air dual scoop hood with functional ram air and proper hood locks. The white 442 stripes are painted on and covered in clear coat. All of the chrome and stainless trim looks fantastic. Of course it has the correct 442 rear bumper with the exhaust cut outs and the correct 442 front grilles. The only flaw I noticed on the body is a very small crack in the edge of one of the hood scoop areas but it is too small to see in pics and barely noticeable in person.  White power convertible top is in great condition and comes with boot cover for when the top is down. The body and paint are absolutely awesome and this car will fit right in at any of the local shows and cruise ins and will probably win its share of trophies if desired. Check out the pics to see how nice the body is!

Complimenting the Flame Orange Metallic exterior is an equally impressive white bucket seat interior. the interior was also completely restored at the time of restoration and we have a receipt for over $6000 showing the extent of the work down. Seats were completely redone with new springs, foams and covers, new carpeting door panels etc. The interior is still in beautiful condition with just a few small marks keeping it from being flawless. Passenger side of dash has a crack on top.  Very highly optioned including power windows that work well, tilt Column, Cruise control ( we have not tried), Factory Air conditioning that will need to be charged up to be functional, 8-track ( not currently working), Am/FM stereo that works well, Tic Toc Tach Rally Pack gauges and more!! As you will see in the pics the interior is in beautiful condition and very comfortable!!!!

Under the hood sits a very strong, completely rebuilt 455/370 hp 4bbl V8 that was installed at the time of restoration. We have receipts for the motor and specs on the motorcar included in the pics. It was ported and polished, balanced, forged pistons, slight cam, etc. This car started life as a 350 4bbl and was upgraded to the desirable 455 with functional Ram Air set up. This motor cruises at highway speed beautiful and is also lots of fun from stop light to stop light. The motor has a very desirable W-30 intake. Smooth shifting turbo 400 automatic transmission was completely rebuilt with the Hurst dual gate shifter. Power steering and Power front disc brakes make handling and stopping a breeze. All of the suspension components were gone through with new bushings at time of restoration. I believe the gears in the post-trac rear end are 3.23 so this car will cruise effortlessly at highway speeds and above. Also has the correct FE2 Rally suspension package. This 442 rides on a beautiful set of body colored 14" Rally Sport Wheels wrapped in nice set of Firestone Radials. A complete tune up was done less then a year ago and less then 400 miles ago. This sweet convertible is ready to be driven and deserves to be driven more then the previous owners did. Drop the top and enjoy this baby!!! Undercarriage looks great with rock solid floorpans with no rust issues. Inside the trunk is also rust free and rock solid with the correct trunk mat, matching spare and jack. I am confident the next lucky owner is going to be thrilled when this classic arrives at his/her driveway

MAKE SURE TO WATCH THE VIDEO TO SEE/HEAR IT RUNNING!!!

Asking price is $42,500 and I will listen to serious offers. Serious buyers can call me at 770-359-8400.
