Up for sale is my 1989 Cadillac Fleetwood with 56,829 miles. I have owned it for about 3 years. The car is originally from the Wichita, Kansas area, which accounts for the pristine condition. There is not a speck of rust to be found. It still wears its original paint and shines like new. It is really beautiful; a must-see. The leather interior is also beautiful and very stylish. There are no rips or tears anywhere in the tufted leather seating area. It is comfortable and roomy. The ride quality is like that of a new car and the engine starts right up and runs as expected for a low mileage Cadillac.
Everything works as designed, including the ice-cold air conditioning system, which has been converted to R134-a. Although there is no retrofit label that I can see under the hood, it was stated a conversion took place by the previous owner in 2018. The Cadillac is equipped with just about every option available at the time, except a sunroof. Please refer to the photo containing the original window sticker for a complete list. It is hard to believe this car cost nearly $32,000 in 1989!
The car gets a lot of compliments wherever it goes, especially at the local car shows. For an unrestored original, it is a remarkable find. I have included a photo of a log I have kept detailing the service performed under my ownership. All of these records, as well as those since the car was new, will go to the next owner. There are three sets of keys in total, including the famous Cadillac Gold Keys.
Engine/Performance Notes:
The 4.5 engine starts up instantly every time. Acceleration is effortless and smooth. There is plenty of power on demand. The engine idles correctly with no surging. There is no overheating or smoke. There are no leaks. The motor consumes no oil. There are no strange odors. The brakes are very quiet with no noises. The car stops very nicely. There are no warning lights displayed. Steering is effortless and responsive. The transmission shifts at all the correct points. The original exhaust is mechanically sound and unaltered. The same is true for the suspension.
Exterior Notes:
Paint is original and shines like new. The clear coat is also original and uncompromised. There is no rust, collision damage, or dents. Very light touch-up with the correct color paint is present. There are very few light scratches, only slightly visible close up. There is no fading anywhere. All glass and seals are original and free of any damage. The tires are like new, as are the wire wheel covers. All lights operate correctly. The original chrome is very bright and free of pitting or oxidation. None of the plastic parts are cracked. The Antelope vinyl roof is in excellent shape. There are no missing or broken emblems.
Interior Notes:
The leather seating area is very clean and free of any rips or stains. The factory carpet is also very clean and still has the original GM floor mats with the Cadillac logo covering it. The headliner is like new. The dash is straight and free of any cracking. All gauges operate correctly. The sound system is stock and sounds wonderful. The power antenna is functional. There is no sign of odors- this is a non-smoker vehicle. Ashtrays look to have never been used. The interior is very quiet and spacious. The power seats operate in all directions. The climate control is fully functional as well. The trunk is spotless and dry- no evidence of rust under the liner. The signature Cadillac trunk mat is present, as are the spare tire and jack.
Service Notes :
All 4 tires were replaced and have about 6,000 miles on them.
All 4 shocks were replaced.
New belt.
New headliner, top center console, and sail panels.
Rear windshield was re-sealed.
Power antenna replaced.
Factory stereo repaired.
New front speakers.
Idler pulley and tensioner pulley replaced.
Original alternator professionally rebuilt.
