Vehicle Description
It's no secret that Cadillac is known for its quality - it is what
has kept it around for 118 years! It was also known to have some of
the longest, most luxurious cars over the years. This was
especially evident in the 1960s when car companies didn't care
about things like miles per gallon or aerodynamics.
Art & Speed is proud to present this fantastic, one-owner 1966
Cadillac DeVille Convertible finished in Cape Ivory with white
leather on black interior. Know to be lady-driven, this Cadillac is
a time capsule of comfort and style. We recently serviced the
vehicle by replacing the tires with new, period-correct white walls
and adding a fresh battery. This Cadillac is showing to be in
all-original condition with a rust-free frame and body. Purchased
in North Carolina, it lived its entire life in the South and has
been garage kept all that time - a testament to why it presents so
well today.
The paint is in good shape with a nice shine to it, though it has a
few minor imperfections and door-ding repairs on the passenger
quarter panel; it's driver quality or slightly better all around.
The fitment of the hood, trunk, and doors are as they should be,
opening and closing with ease and proper panel gaps. The white
power top, which comes with a matching parade cover, is in terrific
condition and goes up and down as it should. The chrome and
brightwork are in fantastic shape, given the car's age, with only
one scuff on the driver's side rear bumper, which is hardly
noticeable. We wouldn't touch a thing on the exterior of this
car.
Under the hood presents in very good original condition. Inside the
engine bay sits the original 429 V8 paired with a three-speed
automatic transmission. It appears to have the stock power
steering, power brakes, and air-conditioning. The engine runs like
a Singer sewing machine!
Upscale touches are a Cadillac specialty, and this one has all the
goods. It was fully loaded when purchased: power door locks, power
windows, power mirror, automatic climate-controlled factory A/C,
electric six-way power seat, in-dash quartz clock, and even Soft
Ray E-Z tinted glass. All features work as they should. The dash
has no cracks. The interior chrome and brightwork are in good
condition - right down to the front and rear factory seat belt
buckles. However, as expected, given its age, it is not all
perfect. It has the original factory steering wheel, which shows
some cracking but is still intact. Additionally, the leather seats
show minor signs of wear and age, but there are no rips or
tears.
For anyone seeking a time capsule to drive and enjoy, stop by Art &
Speed's showroom and take a look at this one-owner survivor and
have confidence that this Caddy is as good as they come without a
high-dollar restoration!
