Up for sale is this absolutely beautiful 1955 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight Holiday.
This car was sold new in Jacksonville, Florida and remained with the original owner until 2007. The car, during his ownership, was brought to Arkansas where it has been since. In 2007, the original owner sold the vehicle to the second owner who started and completed the frame off restoration from 2007 to 2008. Since its completion, the car has been driven just under 14,000 miles and has only been stored inside. The car has not seen inclement weather since its restoration was completed.
The car was originally blue and white inside and out. During the restoration, the car was color changed as you see it today. The car was very straight and needed very little body work at the time of the restoration. The car is in amazing condition and shows very well.
During the restoration, the original 324c.i. V8 - Oldsmobile Rocket motor was rebuilt. The car does have its original Rochester 4GC carburetor and it was also rebuilt. The car still has its original 4-speed hydramatic transmission that shift flawlessly. The car does have drum brakes but has been upgraded to dual master cylinders in the last year which have been relocated for convenience. Also in the last year, the car does have new wheel cylinders and hoses with a new emergency brake. The car has all new weather stippings, new hardware throughout, the bumpers were rechromed, and the stainless trim restored. The trim around the windows is still original and does show minor wear for the year.
This car does have power steering, power brakes, power windows, and a power seat. It has a fresh tune up allowing it to run, drive, and stop as it should.
This car turns heads everywhere and is a great conversation piece. The car consigns with several original documents including the invoice from Langley Oldsmobile dated July 27, 1955 and a payoff letter to the original owner dated January 30, 1956.
