The 993 Is the fourth-generation Porsche 911 and sold in North
America for model years 1995-98. Design sketches for the 993 were
first started in 1989, the year the 964-generation 911 Carrera 4
was launched. The exterior styling design responsibilities were
given to Tony Hatter, and his objective was to revise the shape and
flow of the 911 body that he (and others) felt had become to some
extent a little ponderous with the 964. The result was a
well-balanced layout that became popular right away.
A major change was the implementation of all alloy multi-link rear
suspension attached to an alloy subframe, a completely new design
derived from the 989, a four-door sedan which never went into
production. The system later continued in the 993's successor, the
996, and required the widening of the rear wheel arches, which gave
better stability. The new suspension improved handling, making it
more direct, more stable, and helping to reduce the tendency to
oversteer if the throttle was lifted during hard cornering, a trait
of earlier 911s. It also reduced interior noise and improved ride
quality.
Gaudin Porsche of Las Vegas is proud to offer this well conditioned
993 Tiptronic with only 110,036 miles. It is finished in Polar
Silver Metallic with two-tone Grey/Black interior. It spent the
first 23 years of its life along the California coast line before
moving to the desert and continues to maintain its clean Carfax
history. It sits on staggered 17" Porsche Cup Design wheels with
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires, 205/50/17 up front and 255/40/17 in
back. Contact Steve Thiel at 702-383-6080 or
