Vehicle Description
Upgraded V8 power, classic two-tone style, long bed versatility,
and a loaded A/C interior make this 1986 Ford F-150 Lariat both an
attractive and affordable way to enjoy the classic truck
lifestyle.
The blue and white two-tone is factory-correct. It's not perfect,
but it seems right for this truck. After all, this is from the era
when the family pickup went to work, and so this one has earned its
keep on occasion. But the way the two-tone is intricately put
together and still retains a nice gloss also reminds you that dad
wanted a little style on the weekends, too. As you look over the
whole truck, you can see a cool mix of vintage and new. So you get
classic elements like the chrome front bumper and premium
full-length trim. This is joined by upgrades like the custom
tailgate graphic and a nice set of Vision 17-inch alloys. But more
than just look good, this pickup can still earn its keep. Features
like the long bed protected with liner paint, tow mirrors, rear
step bumper w/trailer ball, and dual fuel tanks are the kind of
things that make this a fine friend for the chores, too.
Just like the exterior, the interior does a great job of blending
new and vintage - and it's all there to keep you comfortable. For
example, the dash has a stock look with the premium wood-like trim,
but the features are upgraded. It includes an AM/FM stereo
w/Bluetooth and the factory air conditioning now blows cold with
modern R134a refrigerant. Your time behind the wheel is an easy one
with a Grant sports steering wheel, moveable center console, and an
upgraded tach.
Ford's 400 cubic-inch V8 was one of the largest motors offered in
this series, and so it's great to see this truck upgraded to this
hardy powerhouse. It has even been enhanced further with features
like an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock intake.
Since this is an upgraded machine, it's unknown if the odometer
reflects the total actual mileage. You've got a truck with the
power to do everything from make Home Depot runs to tow the trailer
for a camping weekend. Add in the three-speed automatic
transmission, power steering, and power brakes with discs up front,
and this classic pickup can easily maintain its manners on the
road.
