Vehicle Description
This 1964 Pontiac LeMans is an award-winning fully-restored coupe
that will impress you with its quality over every inch. So look
over this whole car, right down to the gleaming undercarriage, and
you'll see they invested heavily into making sure this is a
stunning time capsule.
It's 1964 all over again. This LeMans was restored over three years
to get it back to day-one stock. It started with a car that is
believed to have had the same owner for the first four decades ( we
understand the consignor is the second owner.) It was completed in
2007, and the consignor states there was over $53k invested. And
the product really shows the effort. The Nocturne Blue is a dark
paint with a deep gloss that loves to show off the crisp look of a
well-defined sheetmetal. The Lemans was new for 1964, and this is
also the style that launched the GTO. You can see the instant
appeal of that forceful car in the car in the sharply pointed front
end, wide mirror-like chrome bumpers, firmly creased lines. But a
LeMans has a smoother style that you can really appreciate in this
classic. And while the restoration was completed a few years ago,
this one remains looking good, because it was always stored in a
climate controlled garage. This was only trailered to the car
shows, and the this exceptional level of care has yielded some
prestigious honors. This includes the AACA NC region's Red Bird
Award and Ray Crooke Award - both of which recognize a superior
level of restoration.
The white interior is a terrific contrast to the dark blue
exterior, and so people can really see this radiating from within
on this coupe. Not only will it draw eye with the bright glow, but
also it will impress with its presentation. Beautiful bucket seats
up front, matching door panels with correct LeMans emblems, and a
taut white headliner get the premium feeling down correctly. And
with the blue returning on the plush carpeting, smooth dash, and
artful steering wheel, this has a very thought and harmonious color
package. Not only is this fresh, but also you'll love all the
vintage touches. It's in everything from the way the doors close
with a fluid smoothness, to the AM radio that's still cranking out
tunes.
There even has been a solid investment in the engine bay to keep
all the components looking like it's 1964 all over again. In fact,
the consignor even states the 326 cubic-inch V8 and three-speed
automatic transmission are original to the car! The way this one
fires up and runs is a true testament to the commitment to quality
in the whole car. While the V8 shares its lineage with the GTO's
motor, the characteristics are a little different. This one still
has plenty of power, but you can feel that it sees stoplights as
something to cruise in-between instead of the next challenger. The
result is a shining classic coupe that won't wake the neighbors if
you decide to go for a midnight drive.
This is a stunning time capsule of a true classic. So if you want
to turn back the clock, and win some awards, you need this LeMans.
