The W140 mated to the 3.5Liter Turbo Diesel is one of Mercedes Benz
Flagship models with many arguing its the best Mercedes Benz ever
built. You literally see these cars in every corner of the world.
When they were new only the highly wealthy or foreign dignitaries
lined up to get in to one of these cars. Now you still see them
roaming around deserts and jungles with 500,000 miles on them and
they are still going. This particular 300SD is finished in white
over gray and has traveled a modest amount of miles considering
many of these you see are well in the quarter million mile range.
This spent most of its life in southern Florida before making its
way to MI where it was used as a summer time only car with
excellent winter storage. The car starts up perfectly, goes through
all the gears as it should, has great brakes, the tires have good
tread but the sidewalls are checked a little. The interior is in
great condition for its age with everything seeming to be in good
working order including the climate control system. The windows and
sunroof operate good as well. The car burns a little blue smoke on
start up and cold acceleration but seems to clear out as the car
warms up. The only light on the dash is a intermittent SRS air bag
light. The exterior still wears its original paint and if you
wanted could be buffed on the hood a little. The little time I have
spent with this car I would not hesitate to jump in and head on a
road trip. It does have an after market radio that sounds very
nice. The car comes with a clean carfax and owners manual.
