1935 Chrysler Airflow
Car History
We have a very rare 1935 Chrysler Airflow here at Adventure
Classics that has had the same owner for the last 18 years and has
been stored in a climate control building for that same time
period.
The Chrysler Airflow is a full-size car produced by Chrysler from
1934 to 1937. The Airflow was the first full-size American
production car to use streamlining as a basis for building a
sleeker automobile, one less susceptible to air resistance.
Chrysler made a significant effort at a fundamental change in
automotive design with the Chrysler Airflow and they made a few
more in 1935 by making modifications to the body that brought the
front of the car more in line with public taste. Fewer than 8,000
were ever made.
Engine & Drivetrain
When you open the hood you will see the massive 323.5 cubic inch
Straight 8 engine that had 115 horsepower @ 3400 RPM with torque at
240 ft-lb @ 1200 RPM with its single barrel Stromberg carburetor
and backed by the 3-speed manual transmission with the first
automatic overdrive ever made.
This engine was so powerful in its day that it allowed the Airflow
to a record breaking 95.7 mph top speed back then!
It in excellent condition mechanically and looks as nice as it was
way back in 1935 and sits in a very nice painted and detailed
engine compartment.
Interior
The chocolate colored interior is pretty much all original and is
in immaculate condition. Checkout the great looking dash, gauges,
steering wheel, matching front and rear seats in mohair, and side
panels, and you will see how nice this interior really is.
Exterior
The 1935 has seen paint done over the years in the black
presentation to make the car color original as possible with a nice
shine. The body panels are swoopy and the styling was way ahead of
its time and sure to attract attention wherever you go.
It rides on factory wire wheels with a chrome center cap and wide
white-wall tires to give it just the right 30's stance.
It is unique looking with the rear suicide-doors and fender skirts
with a body color spare tire enclosure on the rear trunk.
Conclusion
The sharp looking and very rare 1935 Chrysler Airflow at Adventure
Classics will knock the socks off of anyone at the car shows or
cruises you take it to as we guarantee there won't be another one
there like it!
