Vehicle Description
1998 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 LS
The Chevrolet Suburban is a full-size SUV from Chevrolet. The name
started in 1934 for the 1935 U.S. model year, making it the longest
continuously used automobile nameplate in production. It has
traditionally been one of General Motors' most profitable vehicles.
The 1935 first generation Carryall Suburban was one of the first
production all-metal bodied station wagons. It now comes with three
engine options: a 5.3 liter V8, 6.2 liter V8 or a 3.0 liter
Inline-6 turbo diesel.
For consignment a large Chevrolet Suburban from 1998 in LS package
form meaning it has non leather seating. This rust-free version was
purchased from its second owner by our consigner, who painstakingly
went over every aspect of this truck to bring it up to ship shape
mechanically. It all looks good while in the process of working
excellent too so see this version in our north hallway, and then
take it home.
Exterior
Dark Carmine Red Metallic bathes all panels on this truck. It has
chromed front and rear bumpers, some black trim accenting, and a
silver lower portion of the truck with some badging and a black
trim piece. Tinted glass is all around, and a large roof rack has
been optioned on. Shiny 18-inch 6 lug wheels are on all 4 corners.
4 doors and a rear gate/barndoor give plenty of access to the cabin
and storage rear of this long 6 door truck.
Interior
Nice suede like gray broadcloth along with molded gray vinyl and
some lower gray carpeting and several integrated buttons in the arm
rest make up the door panels. These are all very clean with no
smudges in sight. Inside gray broadcloth seats with a zig zag
pattern covers the front buckets and second row 80/20 split rear
bench. A third-row smaller solid rear bench with the ability to
fold down for more cargo room is on the back. Seats are all in very
nice condition and have the ability to be configured in many ways
depending on your type of cargo/passengers you are planning on
carrying. The clean original dash is up front having a digital
radio installed along with temp knobs and a multi disc CD player in
its own separate compartment below. Clean gray carpeting is below,
and above is a nice felted gray headliner complete with some
overhead storage and extra AC/Heat for the rear passengers mounted
in the ceiling.
Drivetrain
All expertly detailed, and very clean and well maintained as per
the consigner, we see an original 5.7-liter V8 using EFI and it has
a 4L60E 4-speed automatic on back with 3.73 axles. All looking very
nice and tidy under this hood.
Undercarriage
As expected rust free and coated with new black rustproofing.
Consigner has completely redone the braking system with new lines,
hoses rotors and front calipers. New hub bearings are also on in
front. Power disc brakes are on front, and power drums are reserved
for the rear along with new Delco shocks.
Drive-Ability
A quick starter and good driver. with a comfy ride, smooth
acceleration and braking. All functions were working just
swimmingly.
This Suburban "suburban" hauler can be configured in many ways,
making it a very versatile truck for multi uses and plenty of room.
All rust free, very clean interior, and mechanically sound engine
and drivetrain with new brakes, shocks and an oil and filter
change. A nice example, turn the key and go.
