Vehicle Description
We all know the 6th generation Camaro 2SS is a future classic, with
its killer styling, modern amenities, and huge horsepower under the
hood. And just like now, in the future we'll be searching for
interesting, low-batch and collaborative editions as the ultimate
prize prospects. So, when a commemorative car as wild as this 2018
Chevrolet Camaro SS Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition hits the
market, enthusiasts, speculators, and car fans everywhere perk up
with excitement. Consider this a full-size die-cast that you can
actually drive - loaded with a powerful 6.2L 455-horsepower V8, an
8-speed tranny, and a bespoke Crush Orange color combination.
Introduced at SEMA and pined for by millions ever since, this is
your chance to own one of the coolest modern automotive
collaborations ever made.
If you're not familiar with Hot Wheels, then you probably had a
horrible childhood, in which case you may not possess the capacity
to enjoy such a slick ride. Or, maybe letting your hair down in a
modern American muscle car is exactly what you need to kick start
your heart. Either way, this dialed-in Camaro instantly turns life
up to 11. Hot Wheels and the Camaro have been cosmically paired for
decades, with the 1968 Camaro debuting as the very first Mattel Hot
Wheel. So, after a couple forays into a Hot Wheels Camaro in the
early 2010s didn't bring much fanfare (a 2011 chrome neon concept
and blue 2013 Hot Wheels car were introduced without much
marketing), this 50th Anniversary commemorating the first Mattel
die-cast car was the perfect time to strike. Needing a loud
exterior package that really stood out and paid homage to the
brand, they slapped a slick Crush Orange finish on this SS coupe,
along with Satin Graphite stripes that mimic a Hot Wheels track
design, and Satin Graphite ground effects. The $5k package also
brought blacked-out bow-tie emblems, taillamps, and a trunk panel,
along with Hot Wheels 50th anniversary badges on the front fenders,
and another Hot Wheels logo on the tail panel. You also get a
special lower grille insert, chin spoiler and ducktail spoiler out
back, an aggressive hood with black vents, and if you through the
special edition wheels you'll see the Brembo brake calipers were
painted Crush Orange to match. The Hot Wheels 50th anniversary
package really turns the look of the already-aggressive 2018 SS up
another notch, and with only 5,429 actual miles on the look, it
still presents as practically factory-fresh.
Inside are more exclusive elements to the Hot Wheels edition, and
you notice it from the moment you open the door and see the special
illuminated sill plates. The Jet Black and Crush Orange interior is
an exclusive package only for this special edition, and my goodness
does it look great inside this coupe. The bright orange mixes with
the black for a very aggressive seating, and this same combo is
repeated on the beautifully trimmed dash. Plus, the seats, steering
wheel, shifter, door panels, and center console all receive
coordinating orange stitching, and all the soft materials inside
are either plush leather or smooth suede. Hot Wheels script is
found in the steering wheel special three-spoke flat-bottomed
steering wheel feels fat and grippy in your hands, and it's matched
in the headrests and seatbelts. The comfortable driver's seat
offers an unobstructed view of the deeply recessed gauge panel full
of digital units, and the big touchscreen in the middle manages all
the media, navigation, and back-up camera. The sculpted middle
console is space age, as are the jet-engine, turbine-like vents for
the A/C system, and as you might expect, this SS comes loaded with
pretty much every single option and amenity you could get in 2018.
There's a sunroof up top for open-air cruising, 'Ghost' stripes
were included in the custom floor mats below, and the trunk offers
plenty of room for luggage.
Under the hood, the snarling 6.2-liter all-aluminum V8 of the SS
trim is ready to play. Docile around town, but ready to bring the
thunder with 426 horsepower, there aren't many Camaros of legend
that can run with this Super Sport. Completely stock and
unmodified, it starts instantly and runs beautifully thanks to the
wonders of modern computer controls, and with so few miles on the
clock, it's barely broken in. And when you let the eight-speed
automatic transmission slip into overdrive, it actually does
incredibly well on the highway, so this baby is ready to dominate
the power tour. Underneath, magnetic ride control and a beefed up
dual-mode performance exhaust are also part of the package, and
once quick look and you can immediately see that this car has never
been out in any bad weather. Power steering, power four-wheel disc
brakes by Brembo, and modern performance tires on those exclusive
20-inch forged Satin Graphite aluminum wheels means this is a total
package that will feel great on any road.
Complete with a special plaque that commemorates the car and two
replica Hot Wheels cars that came straight the dealer at the time
of purchase, this Hot Wheels Camaro is the very definition of a
collectible car. And with that kind of pedigree, it's obvious that
this future classic has all the right features to be enjoyed today
and the distinction to be admired tomorrow. Don't miss out, call
now!
